TRACK & FIELD GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
COMPETITION RULES WILL APPLY AT ALL MEETINGS
•Two valid licences numbers and full club colours must be worn at all times during the competition
• NO temporary licences will be on sale at Track & Field events.
• Strict Covid 19 regulations will be followed:
• Screening -
No Mask NO entry -
Keep social distance -
Sanitizing -
• NO spectators will be allowed
• Only Pre entered Athletes and Affiliated Coaches will be allowed to enter
Links will be published at least a week before the competition date
Closing date 2 days prior to meetings
• No coaches will be allowed in the competition area
COMPETITION RULES &
CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES
1. The above also apply for Championships events
1.i In heats, the fastest 8 athletes will qualify for the final.
1.ii The fastest 12 athletes qualify for the 1500m final
1.iii If there is not enough entries in the heats, the race becomes a final and will be run at the scheduled time of the final.
2. RULES OF FINALS
Where events are considered to be finals and more entries are received than can be accommodated in a final. More than one race can be run and results will then be determined on the fastest times.
3. CALL ROOM
Athletes must report to the Call Room
60 Minutes prior to the published time of the event
Covid Rules will be followed and health register will be completed before entering the staduim.
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED
4. IMPLEMENTS
All personal implements must be submitted for asizing at least 2 hours before the scheduled time of the event.
In case of a SA record the implement will be taken to be assized again
5. WITHDRAWALS
Withdraw or not reporting to an event will lead to disqualification from the second event.
The meeting manager of the Championship reserves the right to accept valid reason to override this rule
6. STARTING BLOCKS supplied by the staduim/organisers must be used for all events up to 400m
Primary school age 8 & 9 is optional
7. DOMICILED RULE
ONLY ATHLETES domiciled in Central Gauteng may complete in the CGA Provincial championships and CGA talent identification Competitions unless otherwise determined by the Chairperson of CGA Track & Field Commission and members
8. PROOF OF AGE
Must be submitted at the Medal presentation at the Provincial Championships
NO PROOF - NO MEDAL
Only South Africa citizen with a valid ID or birth certificate will be considered for selections
8. ENTRY FEES - 2021-
Payable at the gate
R20.00 at League meetings
R30.00 for All championships
R50.00 Interprovincial meetings
9. The Domicillium Rule for selection to any CGA team will be applied strictly
THE DOMICILLIUM RULE
Rule 5.15
5.15.1. For the purpose of this rule, domicile shall mean the place where the athlete is permanently resident. To avoid doubt, students and scholars resident in accommodation on,or close to the institution of learning, will declare the residence where the athlete stays for domicile purpose and not the resident of the athlete's parents or guardians.
5.15.2 An athlete will only represent the ASA province where in he/she is domicile.
5.15.3 An Athlete will register with one club only.
5.15.4 A National athlete, may belong to a club of his/her choice anywhere in South Africa, BUT s/he will ONLY represent an ASA province where he/she.is domiciled.
5.15.5 No.ayhlete may relocate from one to another without a written clearance certificate from his/her former club or province entitling him/her to complete in the new club or province
Failure to obtain such a clearance certificate shall render the athlete ineligible to compete in the new club or province
