Abigail Henry has been teaching African-American History (AAH) at Mastery Charter for the past 12 years. As content lead for the network she spearheads professional and curriculum development. Recently Abigail won a Pulitzer Center Grant to incorporate the NYTimes' 1619 Project into curriculum, and she continues to write and speak about her work for the Pulitzer Center. Abigail also helped write several units for the School District of Philadelphia's AAH curriculum update. She continues to additionally work as an Adjunct Professor for St. Michael's College where she developed a course titled "AAH for Teachers." Her other AAH consulting is done through her theBLKcabinet LLC and has been provided for Villanova University, Haverford College, PBS, and the Trellis for Tomorrow Foundation. This year she is she starts her fellowship at University at Buffalo as a Schomburg Fellow and PHD candidate in curriculum and instruction.
