Congratulations! Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in collaboration with Lone Star College CyFair have an outstanding opportunity for your eighth grader.
Your student may apply for College Academy, a dual credit program in which students may complete the high school Foundation & Endorsement graduation program AND earn an associate degree from Lone Star College CyFair.
The College Academy is available at every CFISD high school.
This opportunity to graduate from his school with both a high school diploma and a two-year college degree has many great advantages including huge financial savings for you.

Qualifications for acceptance:
The applicant must meet the requirements for promotion to 9th grade,
Complete Algebra I credit with yearly average of 80+ (Or currently be in Geometry in 8th grade)
and have completed K-level/HORIZONS 8th grade English language arts with an average of 80+ (ESL ADV included)
The applicant must have completed ALL portions of the application for admission by June 1st, 2025.
College Academy: The College Academy is offered at each of the 12 comprehensive high schools with the ultimate goal of a student receiving a Associates Degree Lone Star College CyFair.

Application for College Academy CFISD
To qualify for the College Academy program in CFISD, you need to meet the following requirements:
Meet the requirements for promotion to 9th grade.
Have Algebra I (or Geometry) credit with an average of 80+.
Have completed K-level/HORIZONS 8th grade English language arts with an average of 80+, including ESL 8 ADV.
Re-evaluate your four-year plan and choose your courses for 11th grade in the Spring semester.
Qualify for Dual Credit Math and/or Science classes in 11th grade.
To further explain College Academy...
The College Academy housed at each high school campus is a district-wide program for students interested in fulfilling their 'Foundation and Graduation Endorsement' requirements while simultaneously completing and associate degree. This course of study includes dual credit courses offered by Cypress Fairbanks ISD in partnership with Lone Star College CyFair and focuses on preparing students with the skills and knowledge to complete a 2-year degree or apply coursework to a 4-year college or university.
Applications are acce[ted during the 4th Grading period of 8th grade and close on the last day of school. (Specific dates are communication from the middle school shortly after the end of the 3rd Grading Period)
Only current CFISD 8th grade students may apply. (students must attend a CFISD school in 8th grade during the Spring to apply)
