Hillcrest Playground Fundraiser Reaches $103,381

We need to raise $200,000 for our school! Here is why this is not a remodel or updating project. This is not an upgrading project; the playground will be removed to make room for a new building.

The current footprint where the Hillcrest playground is located will be used for a new Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District building. An upcoming building project at the Chippewa High School will begin spring of 2026 requiring the removal of the majority of the current playground.

If Hillcrest Elementary wants to have a quality, accessible playground for the 2025-26 school year, we need to raise the money now. Donations of any size will make this goal happen!

Why Does Hillcrest Need A New Playground?

The existing playground is not accessible for all students. Hillcrest is seeking a solid surface base to be placed under the new play structures making it accessible to ALL children.
Most equipment is outdated, and replacement parts are very limited.
The current playground has a very long, narrow footprint with equipment spread out making some areas very difficult for staff members to monitor.
The playground ground surface is uneven with low areas that collect water which limits greenspace access and use.
The Chi-Hi Booster Club plans to begin construction of the Cardinal United Fitness Center between Chi-Hi and Hillcrest which includes the location of the current playground is located.
