Mrs. Tricia King has a keen interest in sustainable development, conservation, and preservation of marine resources. She also utilizes performing arts through the Anjolique Dance Company, along with creative and innovative techniques in order to create avenues to increase outreach and awareness of the vulnerability of the marine environment and to demonstrate the potential of the Blue Economy. One of her proudest career moments was when she served as the officer with responsibility for the establishment of the first marine management area - St. Kitts and Nevis Marine Management Area (SKN MMA). Mrs. King is a certified MPA Manager, Sustainable Ocean Initiative Trainer, a graduate of the Maritime SheEO Program, and Vice-President of Public Relations and Marketing for the Women in Maritime Association Caribbean. As a female swimming in the currents of male-dominated sectors, Tricia serves as an advocate for women empowerment in different forums; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, SKN Women in Fisheries Sector, St. Kitts and Nevis Reef Guardians Coordinator, and Reach for Recovery SKB Breast Cancer Support Group.
Mrs. King has received numerous awards and honors, her most recent include St. Kitts and Nevis International Women’s Day Award for Blue Economy and her induction into the St. Kitts Pioneering Women’s Gallery for First Female to serve as a Marine Biologist.
