Meet the Coaches
Nathan Wertz (Head Coach)
Skill development is important at this age, but even more important is the development of character, attitude, and grit. It is my vision to cultivate a team of young athletes who embody these qualities both on and off the field. I would love to see these boys share a passion for the game as they grow into confident ball players, and more importantly, disciplined and hard working young men.
Personally, I have been around baseball my entire life. I have coached high school baseball for the past 17 years in York County, while also teaching 4th grade math. I love the game and enjoy watching players grow their skills and passion for the game.
Outside of baseball I enjoy fishing, camping, and vacationing at the beach. I also love rooting for the Phillies and Penn State teams.
Jordan Ogle (Assistant Coach)
Prior to my work as a barber at Manchester Barbershop, I was a teacher in Baltimore County. I have coached baseball since my oldest son was 3 years old and have always valued learning and sharing knowledge. Beyond the barber chair, you’ll likely find me outdoors, indulging in my love for hunting, fishing, hiking, and exploring nature. I’m also an avid supporter of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. Above all, spending quality time with my wife and family holds a special place in my heart. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Carmen Fusco Longshots and equally excited about to begin this new journey as your child’s baseball coach! I can’t wait to share my passion for the sport and help our young athletes develop their skills while having a great time on the field.
Sam Gray (Assistant Coach)
Twenty+ years ago, I began as a laborer for a concrete construction company in Maryland. Today, I am the owner and operator of a concrete construction company and a concrete supplier as well. In addition to my love of concrete work, I am also a passionate baseball fan. I played baseball growing up and softball as an adult. Off the clock, you'll often find me at car shows, cheering for the Boston Red Sox, or on adventures with my wife and three children. I am genuinely looking forward to sharing my knowledge of the game, strong work ethic, and positive attitude with our young athletes and equally excited to help mentor and develop the Longshots in pursuit of their goals.
