Part of your preparation is to review this syllabus - please read through and explore the entire syllabus to prepare for week one of our online class. On the first day of class, there will be a pre-recorded orientation video posted on our Canvas homepage, please review that before getting started on the modules.
I recognize that you are not just students and that you may hold many roles and life responsiblities. With that, I hope to support you to the best of my ability in this virtual setting.

This is a fully online, 12 week course.
This is an asynchronous course, there are no Zoom meetings required.
No textbook purchase required; this is a [ZTC] course - Zero Textbook Cost
An orientation video will be posted on the Canvas homepage.
This course is organized into 6 modules which include weekly readings, discussions/exercises, and quizzes.
Each module will be published every two weeks on a Monday. All due dates are noted on the course schedule and in the Canvas shell.
Late work is not accepted and extensions will only be accomdated based on extenuating circumstances and if the request is made PRIOR to the due date.
If you sense that it's going to be difficult to meet that week's due dates, let me know in advance and we will work out a different plan. I am always just a text or message away and I want to support your learning. Deal? :)
Download MyPortal App on your laptop, device, and/or phone.
Please make sure to download, install, and test Zoom before the first day of class.
Check Canvas at least 3 times per week for weekly updates/ announcements.
Set your notifications to "notify immediately" - review this in the orientation video.
Schedule at least 1 hour every Monday to log in, review the module and assignments and plan your week accordingly.
Dedicate a space for school work in your house/room/library. The more you create a separate space for work and relaxation, the more your brain will catch on to your productivity routine.
Type and submit your assignments before the due date. If you wait for the last minute to submit your assignments you leave no time to address technological issues if they arise.
