The Clean Energy System Lab conducts research on improving the efficiency of energy systems related to fuel and energy use and controlling air pollutant emissions. In particular, research on the development of industrial combustion technology, the improvement of heat management and heat transfer performance of energy systems, and the efficient use of discarded waste heat is being conducted, and the specific research contents are as follows.

• Combustion system efficiency improvement and air pollutant emission control

(1) Industrial combustion furnace and burner development: Low NOx combustion, Oxygen

combustion, Oscillating combustion

(2) Carbon-free combustion: H2, NH3

(3) Energy system analysis and design

• Energy system thermal management and heat transfer performance improvement

(1) Working fluid manufacturing/application research: Self-rewetting nanofluids

(2) Microtube internal flow and heat transfer control technology

(3) Influence of heat exchanger shape and control parameters

• Utilization of renewable and natural resource energies

(1) LNG cold energy utilization: Vaporizer, Energy analysis

(2) Groundwater: Hydrothermal energy, Heat pump

(3) Carbon neutrality technologies
