Advantages of Informed Delivery

The Informed Delivery feature of the United States Postal Service allows consumers to preview and manage their incoming mail and packages. Rather than waiting for the mail carrier to deliver your package, you can now view the package and preview it before you accept it. This service has a range of benefits and is available to consumers in the U.S.

If you frequently travel or miss receiving your mail, Informed Delivery can help you keep track of your mail and call more attention to your brand. You will need to have a residential or P.O. Box to be eligible for this service. It can also be used by businesses. Listed below are some of the advantages of Informed Delivery for businesses.

To enroll in Informed Delivery, go to your profile page and select "Enroll." You will need to accept the terms and conditions and certify your address. Once you have verified your identity, you will be redirected to the Informed Delivery dashboard. Once you click "Yes", you should begin receiving notifications in about three business days.

Once you have opted in to the Informed Delivery service, you will have access to updates from the USPS on your mail. It will let you know if a delivery attempt has failed or if you can arrange a redelivery before it happens. The good news is that the service is free for both consumers and commercial mailers.
