OVERVIEW
Award Studio: Certificate Maker does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. The app lets you design certificates and gift vouchers, fill in recipient names one at a time or from a pasted or imported name list, add a logo and a drawn signature, and save the result as a PDF or a set of PNG images. Your drafts, issued certificates, and their files are kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
PHOTOS, FILES, AND YOUR SIGNATURE
Logo: when you tap the logo button in the editor, the system photo picker opens and you choose one image; the app does not ask for photo or storage permission and does not see other photos in your library. A copy of the chosen image is stored in the app's storage.
Name lists: on the Batch tab you can type or paste names, or tap import to choose a CSV or text file with the system file picker. The names are kept in your draft. The app also stores a working copy of the chosen file, which is normally removed at a later app start.
Signature: if you draw a signature, it is saved as a PNG image in the app's storage and used on your certificates.
The app does not use the camera, microphone, location, or contacts.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Drafts and issued certificates contain the text you enter (title, subtitle, recipient name or name list, body text, issuer, date, voucher expiry date, and certificate ID prefix), your template, paper, orientation, and seal choices, and references to your logo and signature images. Drafts are saved automatically while you edit. Issued certificates also keep the generated certificate IDs, page count, creation time, and the locations of the PDF, page preview images, and PNG archive. Each certificate page also carries a QR code, generated in the app, that contains only that page's certificate ID or voucher code. These records are stored as files in the app's documents storage, together with a library index, a duplicate of it, and an earlier copy of the index. Each change writes a new copy of the record; copies used by the current or earlier index are kept for recovery, and older copies are removed. The app does not set a limit on how many drafts or certificates you can keep.
The app may also store basic operating information such as an app-use count, whether the review prompt was shown, cached advertising settings, and a cached More Apps list.
The developer does not run a server that receives your certificates. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not write to Firestore or upload your drafts, certificates, names, logos, or signatures. The More Apps list loads app icons from internet addresses in that list.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches, the splash screen view, a session count, review prompts, the start of the launch ad step, ad revenue events (ad format, value, currency, and precision), app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. These events do not include certificate text, recipient names, files, logos, or signatures.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob: an app-open ad when the app starts or when you return to it, an interstitial ad that can appear after you save a certificate (from the second save in the same app session), a banner ad, and a native ad in the exit dialog. Google may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location. Banner ads are shown only on the Templates and My Awards tabs of the home screen.
PERMISSIONS AND ADVERTISING CHOICES
Logos and name-list files are chosen through the system pickers, which do not require the app to hold photo or storage permission. The app does not ask for runtime permissions such as photos, storage, camera, location, or notifications. It uses internet access for Google services and ads, and the vibration permission for short vibration feedback when you tap some buttons and when a save, backup, restore, or export finishes.
Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), Google's consent message (UMP) is shown at launch before ads are loaded. Personalized ads are requested only when Google reports that consent is not required in your region, or when your choice allows personalized advertising; otherwise ads are non-personalized. If Google's consent step completes and your choice does not allow ads to be requested, the app does not request ads. If Google's consent step fails (the consent information, the consent message, or your recorded choice cannot be read), the app requests non-personalized ads only.
Where Google requires it, the app menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice. While that message is open the app stops requesting ads; if it cannot be shown, the app does not request new ads until it is restarted. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
On the My Awards tab you can delete a draft or an issued certificate. This removes it from your library and records the deletion, so restoring an older backup does not bring it back. The app then attempts to remove that item's PDF, PNG archive, and page images, and its logo or signature copies unless another draft, certificate, or the earlier recovery copy of the library still uses them; unreadable records are skipped and their known file copies are kept while cleanup continues for other records. If an older unreadable record has no recoverable file references, potentially owned app files are kept conservatively. The deleted item's record text can remain in the earlier recovery copy until the library next changes. Backups you created earlier and files you shared still contain it.
If you remove or replace a logo or signature in a draft, its copy is normally deleted after a later change or app start, once no draft, certificate, or earlier recovery copy uses it. PDFs and page images made for a preview stay in app storage, including previews you do not save. When the app starts, it removes files that no draft, certificate, earlier recovery copy, or known unreadable-record reference uses: unused logo, signature, name-list, and restored backup file copies are removed, and for preview, PDF, PNG archive, and raw text export files the newest four unused files in each folder are kept. If an unreadable record has no recoverable file references, this startup cleanup keeps those files and removes only unused copies of backup files you picked for a restore; if a restore record cannot be read, those picked-file copies are also kept.
Backup & restore (in the menu): a backup contains your readable drafts and issued certificates (deleted items are left out, and the list of deletions is included) and their logo, signature, PDF, preview, and PNG archive files. Records the app cannot read are left out; you can export such a record as a raw text file from My Awards. If the library index cannot be read at startup, the loading screen offers a raw recovery export containing the stored index and record files, which can include earlier record copies kept for recovery. Each backup is written as a manifest and part files in a new folder in the app's storage, and the app keeps every backup it creates; it has no button to delete them. To restore, you choose the backup files with the system file picker; once the selected files are accepted, the app keeps copies of them, together with a record of the restore, so that a partial restore can be completed later. Restoring merges a backup into your library. After the restored library has been written and verified, the app attempts to remove superseded restore records and their copied inputs. A partial restore keeps its latest restore record and required inputs; a completed restore releases these staging copies while keeping files used by your library. Unreadable restore records and potentially owned input copies are kept conservatively.
Files you share through the system share sheet (PDFs, PNG archives, backup files, and raw text exports) are controlled by the app or person that receives them. PDFs and PNG images contain the text, names, logo, signature, and QR codes shown on the certificate, and backup files contain your library data and images. Temporary copies made while creating PDFs, choosing a logo, importing files, or drawing a signature may remain in the app's cache. Use Android storage and backup settings to manage app data and any system backups.
Local data, including certificate and backup files, may be included in a Google or device backup depending on your backup settings (the Android app allows system backup). Copies in a system backup or in locations you selected for sharing are controlled separately from the app library.
Because we do not receive your certificates, we cannot delete them for you; the controls above work within the app. For questions about data processed by Google, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy. Data processed by Google is retained according to its service settings and policies:

SECURITY
Your drafts, certificates, images, and backups are kept in the app's private storage, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, so protect your device with a screen lock. Files you share are accessible to whoever receives them. Apart from the limited analytics events described above, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what the app handles to what is described in this policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Award Studio: Certificate Maker is a design tool. It does not verify recipients, achievements, or qualifications, and certificate IDs, voucher codes and their QR codes are printed for reference only; they are not checked by any online service. Honouring a gift voucher is the responsibility of whoever issues it. Check names, dates, and spelling before you print or share. Use only logos and signatures you are allowed to use, do not create documents that imitate official credentials, and make sure you may use the names of the people you add.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
