Your contribution to this project will go to pay femme artists for their work, as well as hire ASL interpreters and pay the casting committee.
The July shows are partially booked, as we rescheduled them from Snowmaggeddon 2019. I am currently seeking a handful of performers to fill the remaining spots. My commitment is to amplify the voices of black and brown femmes by dedicating these remaining spots to femmes of color. Interested performers can submit their information here: Call for Performers. The call is open through Wednesday, 6/19.
There are 64 performance slots available (8 for each night’s show). This call is open to all performance disciplines. Performing artists will receive a prompt no later than 5pm the night before the show, and will have 24 hours to create a performance piece (5-7 minutes). Performer pay is $45.
Casting: I am committed to casting a diverse group of femmes with a range of intersecting identities and experience. In order to bring equity to the casting process (I am personally white, able-bodied, and cisgender) several additional femmes who experience intersectional oppression will form an ad-hoc working group to cast the show. Together, we will prioritize booking femmes who experience overlapping oppression – trans & nonbinary, POC, sick & disabled femmes, and other femmes who experience intersectional oppression (e.g. working class, fat, aging femmes) will comprise the majority of the cast.

Performers and visual artists will be creating new work in response to prompts generated by the femme community in Seattle and elsewhere. What do you want to see a femme get up on stage and address through their performance? What stories do you want to hear? What experiences do you want to see represented in this vulnerable femme space? I’m looking for a ton of femmes to contribute ideas – share one, or five, or as many as you like –on themes of resistance, resilience, femme identity & power. (Examples: “Create a piece that embodies one of your femme icons,” “Tell us about how ‘femme’ means ‘resistance’ to you.”)
