Student Success Center & Student Services
One of the wonders of college is the availability of various campus activities that aids one development in cultural understanding, social support, and the overall aesthetics of the college physical landscape to explore. Cerritos College provides a huge taste for all the above. I highly encourage students to explore the various developmental programs, attributes, and services available at the campus.
The area of Student Services at Cerritos College supports student development and success through educational, cultural, and social support programs and services. Student engagement is an integral part of the Cerritos College community, and all students are encouraged to explore available services and campus activities.
The effectiveness of each of our programs and services are assessed through a program review process that is based on the Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). The student learning outcomes of each of our departments are developed and assessed as part of a three-year planning cycle.
The online Success Center provides various resources at your disposal for online and in-person support with online tutoring for ESL and writing. In-person appointments can be made as well.
To be honest with you, I was so preoccupied with work and family dynamics that I did not utilize or was even aware of all the student services resources that were available to as a student. This is a part of my college life that I sometime wish I could have a do-over. It was only when I became a grad student when I snapped out of my life daze and began to go to conferences in different cities, artistic plays on campus, outreach activities, and I even had a chance to hangout at this upscale restaurant/bar on campus that I walked passed for years. I strongly encourage you all to be mobile and make time for yourself beyond the class and daily life routines. The various activities on campus will stay with you throughout your time and help mold you more for the better. By the time I graduated (as you can see in the picture), I indeed finally felt fulfilled in my college experience and was ready for the world beyond.
