For Puppies/Any Age:

This is our favorite ball, it lasts the longest (but is still not "indestructible"). I'd recommend starting at a small or medium and increasing as your puppy grows.

I always get this for a new puppy, it teaches healthy chewing habits and is flavored to get their attention. Any Nylabone is a good choice for puppy, as well as natural bones, but never rawhide.

This is a great way to burn off that excess puppy energy. Drago and Opale cry about this toy, so their puppies should love it. You can also make one using a soft toy, a springy rope, and a PVC pipe.
Our Dogs' Favorites:

We have this one on auto-ship as the dogs play with it until it falls apart.

We have something similar to this, it's lasted about a year so far.

She mainly uses this when she's anxious, but it seems to help her some.
Opale and Drago also like laser pointers, they like to chase the dot around the yard. It's useful for the last play before bed when it's dark out. Any laser pointer should do, we just get the cheap $4 ones from PetCo or PetSmart.
Food:
In short, I have no idea what to recommend. There are a ton of great options out there, and any well-thought-out choice will do. I would suggest sticking to foods made in Canada or the USA, and away from big brands like Purina. Here are some foods that I feed, but in no way do you need to feed them too. I do recommend transitioning slowly from what the puppies currently eat (TLC puppy food) to what you'll feed, and I will make sure to send you home with enough food to make the switch (or just some extra if you don't). I encourage you to research beyond my recommendations!

This is what the C Litter has been raised on. I made this switch because it's what my newest puppy is on, as it was recommended by her breeder. I like it because it's delivered directly from the factory in Canada( so it's nice and fresh every time, and I've never waited more than a few days for delivery), has multiple great sources of protein (to avoid any potential allergies), has great additives for development (like salmon oil), and has a lot of minerals that Appenzellers need that they may not get otherwise. The only downside is cost, but that comes with good food.

All of our litters have started on this wet food, and it's a good choice if you want to feed wet food. I like it because I'm not disgusted when I open the can, it smells and looks like real food. It has vegetables and meat, with some additives for preservation. I also like that their dry puppy foods have an option for large breed dogs (which Appenzellers basically are), as that is sometimes a good things.
This is what we feed our non-pregnant adult dogs. It's a solid food and keeps their coats healthy. It's ancient grains (which I don't understand the appeal, but some say that's good). All of the dogs like this food and eat it happily.
