Wondrous Light began in May 2017 as a small programme for young children, based on the Waldorf Education. What started within Wondrous Light Children’s House grew from a simple wish: To offer young children a nurturing environment that honours their natural development.
As the years unfolded, the work deepened, and so did our understanding. Through nearly nine years of walking alongside children, families, and educators, we came to recognise that the quality of childhood is inseparable from the inner life of the adults who surround the child.
Throughout this journey, the wisdom of Dr. Rudolf Steiner has guided us. His insights into child development and human consciousness helped us see that education is not only about methods or outcomes, but about the conscious development of the human being.
From this understanding grew a clear conviction: Through adult self-education, we can better care for and raise the next generation, while also cultivating our own self-consciousness and humanity.
The Centre for Steiner Waldorf Education (Singapore) was thus formed as a natural continuation of our work, a space dedicated to adult learning, reflection, artistic practice, and community building. Here, adults are supported in growing inwardly and outwardly, so that their work with children may arise from clarity, responsibility, and care.
Today, as a programme of Wondrous Light (Ltd), a non-profit organisation, the Centre continues this journey, honouring childhood, nurturing adult development, and contributing purposefully to our society.
