This document includes a variety of information about food waste, composting, federal policies and grants covering food waste, and food waste programs across the country. For instance, if all global food waste was considered its own independent country, it would be the third highest emitter of greenhouse gasses globally. This proves just how significant the problem of food waste is, and how composting can be used as a helpful mitigation tactic.
