A new library for Bangor
We're proud to say that our campaign for a new student-run library has been accepted as policy by Undeb Bangor, the university students union. Follow us to keep up with our progress as we work with the university to make this real.

The Centre for Student Democracy is Bangor's independent student watchdog. We exist to promote an accountable, transparent, and responsible university — one that serves its students, staff, and wider community.
Universities are public-facing institutions with significant power. That power must be exercised fairly, openly, and in the best interests of students.
We are a part of the Debating & Political Society.
What we do
Scrutiny & accountability
We monitor university governance, decision-making, and policy to ensure actions align with stated values, legal obligations, and student interests.
Research & investigation
We produce evidence-based analysis on university practices, governance structures, and democratic deficits, turning complex processes into clear, accessible findings.
Transparency & public engagement
We push for openness in how decisions are made, how money is spent, and how power is exercised — and we communicate this information clearly to students and the public.
Student advocacy
We support students in understanding their rights, challenging unfair practices, and raising concerns without fear of being ignored or sidelined.
