The SCCQG has information about quilts for West Coast Fire Victims.

The philanthropic arm of the Guild is known as the Quilting Angels. They meet once a week to create quilts to give away as needed in our community.

The Quilting Angels will not be meeting until we are again invited to use the St. Patrick’s Church Hall. St. Pat’s will be using their hall as part of their school as they’ll need to social distance their students. We have been informed that the hall will be unavailable for all of 2020. There is no way at this time to estimate when Angels will resume.

Adele Beher and Maryann Henson are still coordinating quilt distributions of the finished quilts we have on hand. A recent request came in for Valor Quilts and Adele was able to fill that request. Maryann distributed 50 premie quilts to Marian NICU unit and now has very few left in reserve so if anyone is interested in making premie Angel quilts contact her as she has children’s fabrics at her home. Angels has had very few other requests because everything is “shut down”.

Angels is still accepting quilt fabric donations. A few donations have come in and we will accept them as long as we still have room in Angel storage to put them.

Many Angels are still making quilt tops during this shelter-at-home time and they may put them in Angel storage if they’d rather not store them at their home. We are all thinking positive and looking forward to when we can resume Angel operations.

We hope everyone is taking good care during this difficult time. Written by Janie Walker and respectfully submitted by the Quilting Angel Committee members; Collette Blair, Janie Walker, MaryAnn Henson, Adele Beher and Judy Rohr.
