About the workshop:
For millions of years, the Arctic Ocean has regulated the atmospheric currents, ocean currents, and weather patterns that sustain our lives.
But it has changed drastically in the past decades. Today, there is 75% less Arctic sea ice in the summer than there was just 50 years ago. As a result, the world's weather patterns have become unstable with greater floods, fires, droughts, and other natural disasters—leading to displacement, unrest, and water and hunger crises. At the same time, military and commercial interests are taking advantage of the Arctic Ocean in its vulnerable state and doing even more damage. This is an
under-reported global emergency.
The workshop unraveled the current state of Arctic Ocean exploitation and militarization, and the global consequences— as well as the singular opportunity presented by the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary (MAPS)

Despite the emergence of a democratic revolution across many corners of African continent, the political resonance of Africa's decolonization and efforts at nation-building are still greeted with new levels of instability. New armed conflicts situations abound in the continent.
On Monday 20th, August 2022, Center for Peacebuilding Organizations organize a webinar to shed more light on militarization in Africa and to also put forward practical solutions to the increasing menace that has been holding the continent down.
Francis Matambirofa is one of the Guest speaker. He is a peace advocate whose principal propulsion uniquely takes origin from his training and teaching of African languages whilst using a comperative perspective. He is Professor (PhD) of Languages, Literature and Culture.
His peace building initiative is rigorously anchored upon drawing attention to African people's shared communalistic Unhu/Ubuntu ethos.
He believes that it is critical to remind Africans that they are blood brothers and sisters. It is hoped that in so doing, a vivid demonstration of this fact through language will help reduce discrimination and the incidence of conflict thereby inversely increasing the uptake of the peace initiatives, especially, among youths who constitute Africa's critical mass, now and the future.
Hella Jinsella is a London-based peace advocate. She is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Demilitarise Education. Jin is using her creativity, strategy and project development skills to empower young people working towards peace. A passionate people's person, Jin hosts a weekly IGLIVE show @dED_UCATION called dED Talks which explores the global fight for peace by talking to modern day peacemakers.
The current Russia-Ukrainian conflict has been a thing of concern to many. Its ripple effect on both countries and the world calls for urgent intervention.
Developing countries, particularly the African countries are not spared as food prices and other essential commodities continue to rise.
Some of the media outlets charged with the responsibility of educating and informing the general puplic are busy making the situation worse by peddling all kinds of lies and propaganda capable of fueling the conflict instead of quenching it.
And consequently, with lies and propaganda everywhere, a number of youth are misguided and brainwashed and left at the mercy of unscrupulous political leaders.
"Russia-Ukrainian Conflict: causes, damages and way to peace" is a webinar that shed more light on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine with the sole aim of unveiling the truth in the face of collective delusion. And the need to uphold Diplomacy and sincere dialogue in entrenching peace in Ukraine and the entire human race.
