Dear Thespian Parents,
As THESCON is approaching, just wanted to update you on a few things.
The conference campus includes: The Columbus Trade Center, The RiverCenter, The Springer Opera House, and the CSU Riverside Theatre.
They will be staying at the COURTYARD COLUMBUS PHENIX CITY/RIVERFRONT
1400 WHITEWATER AVE
PHENIX CITY, AL 36867
There will be 3-4 people per double bedroom. Ms. Harris and Mr. Yarbrough will be attending and chaperoning this trip. They will use an app to communicate and check in with students.
Food
Some conference meals are provided: Thursday dinner, Friday lunch and dinner, and Sat lunch. Students often prefer to find meals in the various cafes and restaurants throughout the conference campus. Please bring additional money for any other meals, snacks, souvenirs (University sweatshirts etc), incidentals, etc. Please note: the conference buffet is a limited menu and does not cater to specialty diets.
Transportation
Chaperones will depart from Centennial on Thursday, Feb 9 in the morning. Specifics to follow as drivers are confirmed. Students will return early evening of February 11.
Registration begins at 12:30 on Th and the closing ceremony ends at approximately 3:30 on Sat. This is approximately a 2.5 - 3 hour drive.
The itinerary includes opening and closing ceremonies, workshops, and shows. They are at the conference center until 11 pm on Th and Fr.
