CHS ORCHESTRA PARENT MEETING NEXT THURSDAY: CHS Orchestra Parent Meeting will take place in the Orchestra room on Thursday August 27, 2026 at 6:30 PM. Detailed information about the school year will be presented, and opportunity to ask questions and get clarification about the program will be given.
4 ½ WEEK GRADES DUE SEPT. 2ND: Overall grades from the 4 ½ weeks of school will be submitted and posted in Infinite Campus by September 2, 2026. Students who are currently missing assignment are able to submit those assignments (except for daily in-class warm-ups), HOWEVER, students will lose five (5) points from the earned grade each day the assignment is late, and a zero (0) will be in its place until the assignment is submitted
FFA ORCHESTRA REPRESENTIVE: The Centennial HS Fine Foundation of the Arts (CHS FFA) is an organization that helps financially run the arts programs at Centennial. Your orchestra dues and charitable contributions support your students in ways such as the purchasing of uniforms, dinners for concerts, Orchestra banquet preparations, sheet music ordering, offsetting trip costs, and so much more. Each arts discipline has a parent representative that attends monthly meetings to speak on behalf of the orchestra program; our parent representative graduated with their student last year, and we will need a new Orchestra representative for at least the 2026-2027 school year. If you are interested in being our Orchestra rep, please respond to this email and more information will be provided.
PLAYING TESTS: Playing tests for all Orchestra students are due at the end of the month, either online or in person. These assessments are MAJOR assignments that showcase what students have practiced and understood thus far. Most playing tests are bi-weekly, and are expected to be submitted on time. Students receive feedback from test submission, and students are expected to improve their performances as the school year progresses. Support your student musician as they are preparing for these test submissions.
BAND APP: The BAND app is our communication service the CHS Orchestra department uses to keep students and parents in the know! This text service is used to send reminders, updates, emergency information, and more. Click on the corresponding link for your student musician’s orchestra ensemble; please make sure you and your student are in the correct group for the correct orchestra ensemble:
