ORCHESTRA AND BAND AWARDS NIGHT: Come and celebrate the accomplishments of our students who have gone far and beyond in Orchestra and Band departments. ORCHESTRA COURSE RECOVERY OPPORTUNITY: It is that time of year where the Centennial HS Orchestra course recovery opportunity occurs. This recovery is in the form of supplying boxes of tissues for our classroom. This year recovery has upgraded. Read below for details

SUMMER INSTRUMENT RENTAL: Students who continue to practice their instrument during the summer will retain the skills and technique that were taught throughout the year. If your child is interested in renting an instrument, a hardcopy of the Fulton County Schools Instrument Rental form has been provided to all interested students. The same form is attached to this email. The cost of renting the instrument for the year is $25 with the ONLY method of payment is OSP (this link will read “Orchestra Rental Fee-Semester 2). Cash or personal check will not be accepted. The last day to submit and pick up summer instrument rentals is Monday May 18, 2026 by 1:00 PM.

SPRING CONCERT: Our last concert of the year is the Spring Concert is Tuesday May 5, 2026 at 6:30PM. This concert will showcase our students conductors and honor the class of 2026. Flyer is attached to the email.
PARENTS OF SENIORS: Please use this link to reserve seats for your family and friends. This link will close at 9pm on May 2, 2026. Some of the seniors have already confirmed the number of guests, so please confirm with them before filling out the form, for if there are repeated forms, the later form will be used and honored. PLEASE COME EARLY! The lighting in our auditorium is not working, making it hard to in the house of the auditorium as people are walking in and taking their seats. The options of lighting is having the stage lights on and no light in the house throughout the night, or keep the house lights on throughout the entire concert. SPRING SEMESTER FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN WITH SCHOOLFUNDR: Our Spring Semester fundraiser with Schoolfundr has started!! For those who participated in the Snap! Raise fundraiser last spring, it is a very similar process. The difference between Snap! Raise and Schoolfundr is that with Schoolfundr we will receive 100% of our raised funds, whereas Snap! Raise took 20% of our raised funds in order to keep things running on their end! Our fundraiser will end on NEXT Tuesday March 30, 2026. AS OF TODAY, WE HAVE RAISED $3,691; $3,691 THAT WILL GO DIRECTLY TO SUPPORT YOUR STUDENTS! 😊You should have already received your student’s personalized link ready to share with others! Please share your child’s link to your friends, family, and coworkers. With 70 students in this program, we should be able to bypass our donation goal. LARGE GROUP PERFORMANCE EVALUATION (LGPE) CONCERT and PRE-LGPE: The Centennial HS Orchestra department will participate in this year’s Large Group Performance Evaluations (LGPE). In the music world, this performance is equivalent to the Georgia Milestones or the End of Course (EOC) tests that occur in core classes. As an ensemble, we are judge and evaluated based on what we present to our adjudicators. Our official evaluation date is next Thursday March 26, 2026 at North Atlanta High School;
Concert and Philharmonic Orchestras (aka the Combined Orchestra) will perform at 4:00 pm
Chamber Orchestra will perform at 6:05pm
Parents are more than welcome to come and support our program, for this concert is free. Parents will also have the option to take your children home once our evaluation is over (our evaluation consist of the stage performance AND a sight reading portion that will take place in a different location at North Atlanta.). Permission forms went home on Tuesday March 17, 2027, and parents will provide confirmation about taking child home on provided field trip form. This form is due NO LATER THAN Wednesday March 25, 2026 by 4:00PM.
*Additionally, students who can drive and have completed and returned the student liability form by THIS WEDNESDAY may travel by their means of transportation. Students WILL NOT leave the premises until they have checkout out with Ms. Jonas.

This will be a great opportunity to observe the life of your student musician, and see how their preparation (or lack thereof) goes into the success of our yearly evaluation. Holcomb Bridge Middle School Orchestras will also take advantage of this Pre-LGPE concert, for they too will perform their evaluation next Thursday.

9-WEEK PROGRESS REPORTS AND IN DANGER OF FAILING COURSE COMMUNICATION: Grades from this grading period (Jan. 6-March 11) have been posted in Infinite Campus. Students who had missing assignments or students who needed to make up any MAJOR assignments (original grade was a 75% or lower) had the opportunity to complete these assignments by March 11th. The grade posted is a result from their efforts during these past nine weeks. Assignments will not be reopened in Canvas for students to complete and submit. Parents of students who are failing or are in danger of failing Orchestra were contacted via email two weeks ago. At this point, students whose grade is below a 80% will not participate in LGPE, and will need to perform this concert during the Spring Semester Jury on May 11, 2026 at 7:45 am.
