Biography
Born and raised in the Atlanta suburbs, Annalisa Robertson has been playing the cello since 2013. She participated in youth orchestras in Gwinnett and Hall counties as well as Suzuki and chamber camps in during the summers. After studying her pre-college years under Anne Hobbs, Annalisa pursued cello performance in college. She received her B.M. in Cello Performance from Middle Tennessee State University in May of 2025, studying under teachers Dr. Christine Kim, Dr. Amber Den Exter, Dr. Christine Kralik, and Dr. Bryan Hayslett.
While acquiring her bachelor's, she performed in school orchestras, acting as principal or assistant principal cellist, in addition to performing with outside orchestras such as the Nashville Praise Symphony and the People's Orchestra of Nashville. She frequently plays for weddings in the Middle and West Tennessee areas and started her teaching career in August of 2024. In September of that same year, she joined the orchestra for the Getty's global Sing! Conference at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.
Currently, Annalisa continues to perform with the Nashville Praise Symphony, subs with The Jackson Symphony, and regularly performs with a string quartet and other ensembles for events and public performances. In pursuit of teaching, she is a member of the Suzuki Association of America and adds to her certification annually, having completed Cello Units 1-5 as of 2025 with trainers Tanya Carey, Trina Carey Hodgson, Beth Cantrell, and Alice Ann O'Neill. She is based in Jackson, Tennessee, and performs for events throughout Middle and West Tennessee, and surrounding areas.
Aside from music, Annalisa enjoys going on hikes, walking her dog, and spending time with her husband.
