The “Celebration of Science” is a festival style event to showcase the amazing contributions of science based industries in our Mid Columbia area to our everyday life. It is designed for all ages!
FEATURING
The Celebration of Science is coordinated by a volunteer group of local scientists, engineers, and general science appreciators. Recent events showed us that while we love science, our neighbors may not realize how much science impacts and improves their lives in the Tri-Cities and surrounding area. We decided to hold a Celebration of Science, and it went so well that we decided to make it an annual event.
At the Celebration for Science, local scientists and community leaders share about the importance of science in the Mid Columbia and booths let you get hands-on with science-based activities for kids and families. We’ll have real, live scientists wearing “Ask Me Anything” buttons for you to find out the answer to a scientific mystery or try to stump the expert in their field. There will be food trucks on-site for fueling scientific curiosity or you can walk to nearby restaurants in the Parkade or on George Washington Way.
By sharing our love for science, we hope to see more support from our community for science that upholds the common good and for evidence-based policies in the public interest.
