I worked as a part timer in Market research companies such as Indica Market Research, Black Stone market research, ABN AMRO, we used to collect impressions, feedbacks about product reviews, customer satisfaction surveys, I also worked in telemarketing, took home tuitions for primary standards. I worked as a company representative at trade fair. It is in this time I also enrolled for BCA from IGNOU. Secured a scholarship from NIIT and Took admission in DIT course. I also worked as a project Intern on part time basis with NIIT in which my job was to teach computer basics to new students and handle front office affairs if counsellor could not be present there for some reason.

 Joined as customer services executive, later promoted as process trainer, soft skills trainer and then Process coach (lead Excellent Team). Served as a member of Proactive care team, this team used to handle escalated customer complaints which were out of the scope of normal call handling procedures.

1. Taking care of assigned team KRAs, i.e. CSAT, AHT, Internal Quality, Communication.

2. Monitored calls and giving feedback to floor agents. 

3. Provided floor support to agents on billing and enquiries and took Supervisory calls and successfully resolved complaints.

               Joined as a Computer Instructor  to teach computer basics to youth from a disadvantaged section. It was a beautiful exposure and opportunity to touch many lives. Talked with disempowered women, took a walk in the slum. observed life conditions of children and youth and women there. Sanitation, health care facilities, education were topics of discussion . My Turning point in life was when I visited hospices for terminally ill patients. These people knew they would die but still met us with smile on their faces. I felt useless and foolish in a very positive way. My heart was filled with gratitude for all God gave me, put me through, took away from me. I felt freedom from my ambitions, empty pursuits. This introspection helped me to realign, refocus and reenergize myself. I decided to formally acquire education in social work sector. In this organization however I did other job duties as well.   

1. Community Work: Volunteer engagement in institute’s activities related to women and child development, conducting lectures on health education in SHG meetings in selected communities, Conducted community teaching classes of non-formal education with slum children, Organizing community events such as Anand Mela.

2. Documentation and Designing: Prepared annual report of the organization, Pamphlet design, prepared reports of the program activities of the center, documented case studies and success stories of the Women Resource Cell of the center.

               Internship, June 2012- July 2012 with Indian Social institute 

•  Developed Training Module on Environmental Health for Indian social institute, Delhi, an institute of repute since 1970, which is working with slum dwellers of different locations in Delhi.

• Organized an Eye donation campaign in collaboration with Department of Ophthalmology AIIMS, Delhi.

• Conducted Mohalla Sabha with Society for Integrated Development and Empowerment a grass root organization working for the slums dwellers in Tigri-New Delhi.  Residents of Tigri slum openly presented their problems to the municipal counsellor of the area regarding water supply, hygiene related problems. 

• Organized Sanitation drive in Delhi with the residents of Tigri Slum. They were all motivated to clean the narrow streets of their slums and through sloganeering generated awareness regarding health and hygiene.

• Developed a community profile of Madangir area which is a resettlement colony in New Delhi for Indian Social Institute. Its main objective was to provide reference to future trainers who would go in that area to conduct social programs. It would make them familiar with that area.

• Conducted a Capacity Building Training of Right to Information act 2005 in Tigri slum for Indian Social Institute. Nearly 60 persons with majority of women participated in the training. 

• Conducted and initiated a workshop on Environment Health and sustainable development dwellers of Tigri for Indian Social Institute its main focus was on Behavior Changing Communication to promote health and hygiene in the area where the participants lived. It was attended by more than 70 persons and outcome was the formation of health and sanitation committee.

• Conducted a workshop for Staff on Evolution of NGOs, leadership, social change, motivation and power of initiative.

Field Work, August 2012- May 2013 as Eye Donation Counsellor with GMCH32, Chandigarh 

Key responsibilities

1. Grief counselling and motivating the relatives of the deceased for corneal donation. 

2. Conducted eye donation awareness survey. (Myths and Facts and social perception towards  Eye Donation) 

3. Facilitated corneal collection, which involved coordination with SRs, JRs, and Nurses in the team. 

4. Presented final report to the Department of Ophthalmology GMCH 32 which comprised of recommendation to strengthen the inter and intra department coordination for cornea collection. 

Block Placement,  June 2013- 2013 with Chandigarh Social Welfare Board

 Key responsibilities

1. Developed manual on Disability Rights.

2. Visited family counselling centers for observation of Counselling sessions. Later these sessions were documented with recommendations as how this session’s quality could be better and improved. Hence preparing manual for the refresher training of psychologists and counsellor community to enhance their skills.

1. Community Work: Visited schools, colleges, villages to generate awareness about skill development initiative scheme and various courses it offers and enrolling interested candidates for the desired course.

2. Coordination with Gurudwara committees and panchayat members to arrange the space as a program venue for orientation.

Developed Soft Skills/Sales and Marketing Skills Training Module: Designed and conducted personality development and soft skills training program for engineering students about Interview skills, communication skills, leadership skills, critical thought process, stress management, emotional management etc. 

4. Developed a training module on sales and marketing and conducted regular refresher trainings for counsellors on sales generation, how to turning enquiry into a business and marketing.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Coordination and Documentation -Prepared concept notes, proposals and press notes for media for health awareness activities (Trainings, Workshops and Health Education Sessions etc.) to be conducted in villages selected for intervention.

2. Liaison with Govt. Health Department and ICDS functionaries at the village, PHC, CHC and district level to create conducive environment for the project.

3. Identified and collaborated with likeminded NGOs in the intervention area. 

4. Developed community profile of the targeted areas via social mapping, risk assessment, need assessment and community assets mapping. 

5. Presentations and Reporting: Presented Monthly report of project activities to the donors, corporate houses and Govt. officials regarding the project activities.

6. Drafted annual report on the project activities conducted within a year which clearly narrated the impact it created on the target communities. 

7. Program Activities and Resource Mobilization: Conducted health awareness meetings on a daily basis in intervention villages on topics such as antenatal care, nutrition, immunization, health services (102,108), menstrual hygiene, personality development and life skills such as critical thinking, decision making etc. 

8. Organized a health mela in which a team of 12 doctors and free medicines were mobilized from govt. health department Himachal Pradesh. About more than 300 people were benefited from this activity. 

9. Conducted pulse polio camps in the whole intervention area. Awareness and education was done about polio, nutrition and antenatal care among migrant population (those in brickyards). 

10. Conducted a training program among Panchayat members of the intervention area about how to strengthen a dysfunctional Village, Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Committee.

11. Organized a capacity building training for all the Aaganwadi workers in which they were given communication and counselling skills training on how to motivate adolescents about consuming IFA and provide stress counselling wherever needed. A team of doctors from GMCH 32 were mobilized and a session was conducted on what STIs and STDs causes blindness in human foetus.

12. IEC material was mobilized from Central Health Education Bureau New Delhi and Health Education Dep’t. Himachal Pradesh.  

13. Starting of school for adolescent girls in intervention area where the target group was educated about personality development, decision making, critical thinking, career counselling, menstrual hygiene, stress management, early marriages, communication skills etc.  

14. Organized and conducted ARSH clinics at schools and Aanganwadi centres for adolescent girls and boys and counselled many cases. Documented highlighted cases and success stories and presented case studies to the donor agency and management. 

15. Conducted counselling of the pregnant women on nutrition, institutionalized delivery etc. on a one to one basis once in a month thus supported Mission INDRADHANUSH.

16. Conducted Focused Group Discussion with factory workers and help them understand about issues that impact women’s life like unwanted pregnancy, STIs, STDs, lack of education, menstrual hygiene etc. 

17. Conducted house visits among factory workers and presented a report of house and living conditions to the CG management. 

18. Invited as a resource person in conducting a session on counselling skills and organizing awareness programs during training of newly recruited ASHA workers with Health Educator and Block Medical Officer.

Program Manager, January 2016- December 2016 with  Mentor Together (Youth Development)

Key Responsibilities 

1. Initiative Taken: Designed E-Newsletter and circulated this in mentor’s community every month.

2. Sorted out conflict in operations with one of the community partner which helped program to run smoothly. This later became one of the milestones achieved. 

3. Youth Development and counselling: Conducted training of the community partner’s staff about the program and building strong relationships with them which enabled the program to run smoothly. 

4. Conducted personality assessment and career counselling with youth and recommended best career option based on their aspiration, family background, financial suitability, personality so that they are able to make ambitious yet realistic and achievable goals. 

5. Program Activities: Youth Orientation and Engagement about mentoring (Career, Emotional, Academic and Soft Skills) via well designed activities so that they understand about program services. 

6. Conducted personality assessment of prospective mentors and based on their professional and academic background, strengthens and weaknesses (This was done through designed tools) identified suitable mentee for them and facilitated introductions for both. 

7. Conducted training of prospective mentors on crisis intervention, roles of a mentor, social relationships and healthy boundaries, basic personality traits and their manifestations.

8. Providing ongoing counselling to mentors selected for the program to enhance their mentoring and counselling skills for their mentees and in the process addressing any challenges that they face.

Community work and Initiative undertaken during post-graduation MSW

1. Created a booklet of innovative Slogans for Chandigarh State Aids Control Society, on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention and eradication of social stigma towards HIV/AIDS victims. Slogans published on Calendar, Websites and Banners and standees. 

2. Initiated the Idea of self-defense training to combat the problem of Eve teasing and played a key role in preparing proposal, budget and establishing collaboration between Centre for Social Work and Chandigarh Police (U.T.). It was a seven days training Program.

3. Initiated an idea of conducting a campaign on Eye Donation awareness with Department of Ophthalmology on the occasion of National Fortnight on Eye Donation Awareness with Department of Ophthalmology GMCH32.

4. Organized a Blood Donation Campaign with Lions’ Club Campus and Department of Transfusion Medicine GMCH32 at the University Level. Played a vital role in coordinating and motivating blood donors to donate blood.

5. Initiated and conducted an Awareness Campaign on Violence against Women with Youth Forum, Family Planning Association of India, Chandigarh Social Welfare Board and Lions Club Campus. During this campaign a community talk was organized and signature campaign was organized in sector 25 slums Chandigarh and women were educated with their legal rights. Awareness walk with posters and slogans was also a part of it. 

6. Organized and conducted an awareness level activity on Role of Youth in Social Development in Punjab University on the occasion of International Youth Day 12th August 2012.

7. Organized a training of Eye Donation Awareness in Collaboration with Department of Ophthalmology GMCH32 Chandigarh, for approximately 25 students. It was a month long awareness campaign held at key tourist’s locations in Chandigarh.
