Genomic Cancer Detection
Using Swarm Intelligence
Using Swarm Intelligence
The survival chances of breast cancer patients have been shown to improve significantly with early diagnosis. Thus, through taking advantage of recent advancements in genomics and genetic sequencing techniques, early diagnosis can hopefully become easier. We discuss a Genetic algorithm and Swarm algorithm hybridisation approach in an attempt at solving the issue of high dimensionality and heterogeneity inherent to the features present in Genomic datasets. The paper intends to study a novel hybridisation of the canonical genetic algorithm and the Artificial Bee Colony(ABC), as they are suited towards the high dimensionality of the problem.
