CPVT Electrocardiographic Indices Registry (CEIR)

Welcome to the Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia Electrocardiographic Indices Registry (CEIR)

Following the success of our multi-national study on Brugada syndrome (BEIR), the team is establishing a similar study on catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT). Currently, there is no established predictive model for risk stratification in CPVT. The aim of this project, therefore, is to use different electrocardiographic indices for risk stratification in patients with CPVT.

What is Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia?

Catecholaminergic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is an ion channelopathy characterized by bidirectional VT and typically presents in the first two decades of life. However, as one of the rarest ion channelopathies, data on this disease are limited, especially from underrepresented regions.

What is unique about our project?

We differ from other registries in four major respects:

  1. The investigators are taking an all inclusive stance, and welcome contributions from any interested investigators with relevant data to join our project. For example, we have researchers from all over the globe coming from centres of varying sizes.

  2. We particularly encourage new and junior researchers to join our project.

  3. We have recruited investigators from across the disciplines, such as pre-clinical electrophysiology, data science, clinical cardiology and electrophysiology, and epidemiology, to facilitate collaboration and cooperation.

  4. The goal is to utilize complex and higher dimensional analyses to facilitate risk prediction.
