Mission Statement
The purpose of this organization shall be to create an inclusive community for SJSU Counselor Education Graduate Students
by providing networking opportunities, practical experiences, and spaces to voice opinions.
Officer Roles
President:
The president is responsible for setting and monitoring the goals of the club, running club meetings, appointing committee chairs, and delegating tasks as necessary. They also handle recruitment, training, and retention of members, as well as maintaining regular communication with the advisor of their student org. President oversees all executive positions. (The president must also fill expectations of A.S./Student Involvement which include representing the organization at formal functions and SAMMY App management.)

Specific Tasks:
Overseeing all workshops and all promotional tasks such as flyers, classroom push-ins, social media posts, and the monthly newsletter
Attending all meetings with the Faculty Advisor, Department Chair, Fieldwork Coordinator, Success Center Director, and any other advisors to CEGO
Participating in the Student Advisory Board (SAB), a meeting 2-3 times per semester with the Dean to bring up departmental concerns
Flagging all CEGO emails to delegate to appropriate team member for response
Following up with all delegated tasks to ensure completion
Corresponding with professionalism and timeliness with all Points of Contacts - Dean of College, Chair of Department, and Faculty Advisor - and working closely to create a mutually supportive relationship
Leading presentations and announcements when representing CEGO, such as orientations, first 292 meetings, etc.
Vice President:
The role of the vice president can be summarized in one word: support. The vice president supports the president, other organization officers, committees, and the general membership. This can include overseeing committees and acting as consultant on personal projects. They are also expected to learn the duties of the president in order to fill in/take over the role and responsibilities as necessary.

Treasurer:
The treasurer controls the organization’s funds, both its collection and disbursement. They collect member dues (if dues are requested), prepare and monitor the budget, and maintain accurate financial records. They will also attend meetings with A.S./Student Involvement concerning funding as needed. In addition, they will organize catering if the event allows for it.
