It is with much glee that I would like to announce that the CED project has finally reached its working-prototype status in its development! I've managed to get the core mechanics and the motion controls work just right as prescribed in the proposed features of the project; They still need some more detail work in order to give out the best experience though.
Soon, the project will enter the user-testing phase, though major changes will be applied on how it will be performed due to the recent and ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in our country. The plans are still being discussed and will be announced here once ready. Stay tuned!
The images may not show much but I'll produce a demonstration video soon to accompany the user-testing phase.
In order to give you all some more ideas about my project because surely the homepage is not enough, I will tell you the proposed features of it. The main keyword is "Interactive Projection"; A projector displays some graphics and one can interact with the graphics... Think of a Kinect game.
Motion-based user interaction
This is done with the inclusion of the Microsoft Kinect For Xbox One. The Kinect tracks the user’s hands and head to perform some functions.
Persistent Display Progression
The progress of the CED is constant, so long as it is kept running.
Multiple Fixed-Camera Angle Views
The Diorama will have multiple fixed-camera angles set in different spots within its area.
Simulated Environmental Pollution
Simulated effects of Environmental Pollution is illustrated onto the Diorama.
A rough representation of how the setup of the project should look like
