Overview:
Internet of Things (IoT) is considered among the most influential technologies of the decade. It plays a vital role in revolutionization of the various sectors such as Healthcare, Transportation, Manufacturing, Agriculture etc. IoT network consists of connected physical devices/things which collect and share data of their surrounding environment. Edge computing solutions enable the local data processing of collected data to serve the real-time system/application requirement(s) by addressing the challenges associated with cloud-based solutions. On the one hand, the Edge-IoT paradigm enables local data collection and processing to enhance system performance. At the same time, it also exposes the system to potential security threats at both data and infrastructure level. Cybersecurity practices ensure the protection of critical systems and sensitive information from digital attacks by designing the measures to combat the threats.
Objective:
The fundamental objective of the workshop is to provide a detailed description of the Edge-IoT paradigm, Cybersecurity practices, and potential security challenges and solutions in Edge-IoT through a series of theoretical and hands-on sessions. The intention of the program is to make the researchers aware of current challenges and opportunities in recent Cybersecurity practices in Edge-IoT paradigm. The aim of the program is to provide opportunities for students and researchers to enrich their knowledge in the following areas:
Fundamental of Edge-IoT
Fundamental of Cybersecurity
Security challenges in Edge-IoT
Potential solutions to Edge-IoT security challenges (such as ML based, Blockchain based etc.)
‘KARYASHALA’ scheme by SERB is meant for skill development training on topics required for scientific research work. It is an effort to improve the research productivity of promising PG and Ph.D. students from universities and colleges through high-end workshops on specific themes. This program aims to provide opportunities to acquire specialized research skills.
