Picture this: an island escape filled with pristine beaches, lush landscapes, and a touch of luxury. That’s exactly what Camiguin offers. If you’re planning a trip and wondering where to stay and what to do, we’ve got you covered.
Recently, we took a much-needed 4-day break to this enchanting island. Our stay at the UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin turned our trip into an unforgettable experience. From luxurious accommodations to thrilling adventures, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your Camiguin getaway
Our Camiguin adventure started with a smooth airport transfer, perfectly arranged by UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin. The warm welcome we received was unforgettable, with the staff dancing energetically to BINI hits and handing us refreshing welcome drinks as we arrived. This festive atmosphere immediately set the tone for a fun and relaxing escape. During our four-day stay, we made the UNWND Boutique Hotel Camiguin our base, and it felt like a true home away from home. The hotel’s Executive Suite offered everything we needed for a luxurious stay, from a private veranda with breathtaking sea views to complete amenities like a personal refrigerator, a coffee and tea station, ample storage, and even an office space. The cozy mini living room and the secure safe for valuables were thoughtful additions, and the exceptional customer service made us feel pampered throughout our visit.
One of the highlights of our stay was dining at Mamser Restaurant, located within the hotel. Camiguin is known for its lanzones, and the restaurant showcased this local fruit beautifully. We couldn’t get enough of their lanzones ice cream, cake, and cocktail – a trio that you must try when you visit. For breakfast, we recommend the tapa or French toast, both of which were flavorful and satisfying. Lunch highlights included the binakol and crispy pata, while dinner was a feast with their boodle fight meal, perfect for sharing with friends or family. Each dish brought unique flavors of Camiguin to our table and left us thoroughly impressed.
The hotel’s amenities added to the overall enjoyment of our trip. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring, while the bar and game area with chess and foosball provided entertainment in the evenings. The hotel staff also made it easy to arrange tours, ensuring we didn’t miss any of Camiguin’s treasures.
Beyond the hotel, we explored some of Camiguin’s most iconic spots. Our first stop was White Island, a pristine sandbar surrounded by crystal-clear waters. The view was stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. The Sunken Cemetery, a site marked by history and beauty, left us in awe with its solemn charm and picturesque views of the cross rising from the sea.
At the Old Church Ruins, we delved into the island’s rich history, marveling at the remnants of a 19th-century church that survived a volcanic eruption. The visit to Tuasan Falls was a refreshing treat; the cascading water and lush greenery made it a serene escape. Arden Spring provided another spot for relaxation, with its cool natural spring waters that were perfect for a midday dip.
We also took a peaceful stroll along the Katunggan Park Boardwalk, a mangrove sanctuary that offered picturesque views and a calming ambiance. For coffee lovers, Utopia Cafe was a delightful find, serving great coffee and snacks in a cozy setting. At the View Deck, we enjoyed panoramic vistas of Camiguin’s lush landscapes, making it a perfect spot for capturing photos and soaking in the island’s natural beauty. Lastly, we trekked The Walkway to the Old Volcano & Stations of the Cross, a spiritual journey that combined scenic beauty with a meaningful experience.
