General Information

All bona fide students, alumni, administrators and other personnel currently employed in Colegio De San Lorenzo are allowed to access and utilize the Learning Resource Center’s collections and facilities. Outside researchers and visitors must present a referral letter from their institution’s Head Librarian before using the library’s resources and facilities.

Since the CDSL Learning Resource Center does not issue library cards anymore to its users, the users’ account must be checked regularly in the system by the LRC personnel to ensure up-to-date information and prevent possible issues regarding inactive users.

Library General Rules and Regulations

Borrowing Terms

  • Same borrowing terms shall apply for physical library materials. However, extension on days of borrowing will be given, i.e. 1 week instead of the usual 3 days to limit face to face contact.

  • For online resources, a patron may place a request for material using the FB messenger, google chat or email. Selected scanned materials shall be subject to copyright policies.

  • All research works will still be for library use only. However, upon request, only the Abstract and Bibliography may be sent to a patron. The abstract and bibliography will be scanned and sent in “read only” or jpeg format only.

  • The library temporarily suspends it services to outside users.

  • Same policy for lost or damaged materials shall apply.

  • Finally, same policy for library clearance shall apply, such that a patron should be cleared of all accountability at the end of the semester/school year.


CIRCULATION PROCEDURES


Borrowing and Returning Library Materials

  1. Same procedures for borrowing materials shall apply for physical materials.

  2. For online borrowing of resources:

  • Patrons will send a request to the library’s FB messenger, google chat or gmail accounts.

  • The Librarians will check availability of the requested materials.

  • Upon availability, the Librarians will inquire if the materials will be physically sent or selectively scan parts of the material.

  • For physical books, the Librarian shall process the courier sending of the material.

  • For scanned materials, the Librarians shall process and send the material to the patron through online means.

  • Patrons will be required to properly acknowledge receipt of sent materials both physically and online.

  1. Upon returning of materials physically borrowed, patrons shall put the materials in a designated dropbox in front of the circulation area.

  2. The materials returned shall be put on quarantine for 4 days. After which, the materials will be properly sanitized and returned back to the shelves for circulation.

  3. The library will temporarily suspend the use of discussion area.

Services by the library during semester break are temporarily suspended and may be available upon special request.

Request the book titles that you need by emailing lrc@sanlo.edu.ph or by chatting with Ms."LORIE" Virtual Library Assistant and completing the Online CDSL-LRC Borrowing Form.
