Chosun HK Global Fellowship – Call for Applications [updated]
For Advanced-Stage Research Projects
The Chosun University HK Research Group invites applications for the HK Global Fellowship, designed for undergraduate and graduate students who have curated their data and conducted preliminary analyses and who seek additional guidance to further develop and refine their research projects. Through collaborative mentorship and constructive feedback, the fellowship supports students in advancing their work toward publication readiness.
Fellowship Period
November 15, 2025 – February 15, 2026 (3 months)
 Application Deadline: October 15, 2025
Purpose
This fellowship is designed for applicants with research projects at an advanced stage, typically involving curated data and preliminary analyses that would benefit from further development and refinement.
It provides focused mentorship and collaborative guidance to help fellows strengthen their research and prepare it for publication. The program particularly welcomes projects that would benefit from additional mentorship or fresh perspectives such as independent studies, secondary data analyses, or ongoing work that could be enhanced through cross-disciplinary guidance. Projects already receiving sustained, close supervision from a primary advisor or established research team may be less suitable for this program.
Authorship will be determined jointly by the fellow and the HK mentor, following recognized international guidelines (e.g., ICMJE, COPE) that assign authorship based on substantial intellectual and practical contributions. If applicable, the fellow’s primary advisor will be consulted to ensure coordination and appropriate acknowledgment of contributions.
Scope
Projects should be broadly related to language, communication, and cognition, including but not limited to:
● Language acquisition and cognitive development across the lifespan
● Phonetics and speech communication
● Korean linguistics in typological and cross-linguistic perspective
● Digital humanities and corpus-based approaches to language research
Interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged, including those that integrate methods from linguistics, cognitive science, psychology, data science, AI, or large language models (LLMs), provided they align with the HK Research Group’s mission.
