Community NEEDS US

The Regenesys philosophy is based on the belief of building leaders and Managers who have superiority in terms of Emotional Quotient, Practical application based education and Robust Managerial Skills. Regenesys does not want to create run-of-the-mill graduates; whom future technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Robotics can replace.

To meet the goal of providing practical and applicable education, to ultimately make Regenians work-ready and immediately employable, the Regenesys Institute of Management, under the Regenesys Foundation, brainstormed and identified the industry needs, in coordination with their high-end corporate contacts.

This primary research highlighted a few industry requirements that were completely missing from the general MBA graduates. The session revealed that the need of the hour with regards to industry, was not students who had vast subject matter knowledge, but:

1. The ground level know-how of how various departments work and function

2. Ability to work and manage different aspects of the work that they would be required to do

3. Ability to manage projects with a 360 degree view

4. Ability to Identify the requirements of the job and the ability to dynamically manage it

Once these gaps were identified a plan of action needed to be devised to tackle these areas and we needed to come up with pedagogy that enabled students to gather as much practical experience, in as many fields of management as possible. It was also identified that a 2-month internship or an On the Job Training (OJT) would not suffice, as it would limit the students to only gaining superficial knowledge of one department and defeat the purpose of holistic management education.

After detailed focused group sessions with CXOs and Senior level HR personnel, Regenesys Management came to a decision that if students work on a project from scratch and through guidance of the right mentors, manage all aspects of this project on their own then, it would give them true practical insight and practice of managing work.

A final decision was made to work on a community development project for the slum dwelling population in the Belapur region of Navi Mumbai. This Community development program would serve a three-fold purpose:

1. Student Development

2. Community Upliftment

3. Alignment of the project with Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi’s drive for “Swachh Bharat”

With these intentions the Community Development Program was launched on 17th September 2018, with wholehearted participation from Regenians. It was a pleasant surprise when Mr. Andrew Geddie, a foreign citizen decided to join hands with us to be part of this Community development program and help in the betterment of underprivileged Indian citizens.
