All visitors to the UK now need a mandatory Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) or a visa, unless they:
Have a British or Irish passport
Already have permission to live, work, or study in the UK
An Electronic Travel Authorisation costs £20 and is the appropriate route for people belonging to the nationalities on this list. Note: even colleagues from European countries must apply in order to enter the UK.
A Standard Visitor Visa (Business) costs £135 and is the appropriate route for people belonging to the nationalities on this list. If you need a visa, you should apply in good time.
To support your entry into the UK, we will automatically provide every attendee based at a non-British institution with a Letter of Invitation to enter the UK as a Standard Visitor. Colleagues with an ETA can also use this letter. It is advisable you keep the letter with you when you enter the UK.
To produce the letter, we will use the name you registered with, and the dates 21 September - 26 September (covering one day before and one day after the conference). If you would like something different on your letter of invitation, please contact Jordan Summers at tpadmin@physics.ox.ac.uk.
