I am a senior at The Center of Advanced Studies at Wheeler High School, and I hope to pursue a Computer Science major in college. Within computer science, my main interests are Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and IoT based platforms.
In my free time, I like to volunteer, play the guitar, watch the Atlanta Falcons with my friends and family, and sight-see across the world.
I am the Outreach Director for my F1 in Schools team, NHS President, and Co-President of Wheeler Environmental Club. These clubs are very important to me because I love giving back to my community. More than anything, I love teaching STEM subjects to students through different activities that I plan with my F1 in Schools team.
One of my favorite things to do is travel the world with my mom, my dad, and my sister. I have been to 27 states in the United States and countries in Asia, South America, North America, and Europe. Next up on my traveling list- the canals in Venice, Italy!
I have been playing the guitar since I was five years old, and I have played the clarinet since I was in fifth grade. I was the concert master of the Wheeler High School Wind Ensemble, and I played in the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra. Last year, I was also selected as an All-State clarinet player! I hope to continue these hobbies when I go to college.
As a senior in high school, I hope to continue pursuing computer science in college. Over my high school years, I have attempted to fight for social issues that I believe in, even though they are diverse fields. Touching on gender and racial inequities, mitigating the risk of COVID-19 in campuses through IoT technology, and now fighting to grant those affordable mental health testing, I hope to fight for these on a grander scale in college and for the rest of my life.
Dr. Dan Lo is a professor at Kennesaw State University that specializes in the applications of Machine learning to research and pressing issues. Without his guidance in the intricacies of Machine learning algorithm building and testing, I would not be in the position I am in with respect to my project. Dr. Lo's work as a professor has inspired me to continue using Machine learning, and it has been instrumental in the development of this project.
