The Hackathon event is being organised to capture innovative ideas and solutions in cyber security domain. The event is aimed to challenge the employees and students of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing to come up with innovative solutions to some of the classical and modern problems in cyber security. The participants are expected to apply problems solving approach, innovative mindset and extensive coding ability to conquer the hackathon.

All the employees of CDAC and students studying in various university affiliated, PG Diploma and certificate courses being offered at any CDAC centre including ATCs. Participation in the Hackathon constitutes Participant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) laid down for the event. In the following section the term “you” refers to you, the “Participant” / “Team of participants”.
Participation in the competition is free of charge. You can participate either as part of a team of two to four (2-4) people or on an individual basis. In case of a team, one of the member will be the corresponding participant and all communications related to the event will be done on email id/mobile phone of the corresponding participant.
Switching teams is not allowed. Organiser (CDAC, Noida) is not responsible for, and will not assist in resolving, any disputes between team members. To participate, you must login to the system for which the link will be provided by the organisers. All the necessary arrangements of computer system / Laptop, internet connectivity etc. will be sole responsibility of the participant / participants. Organisers will not be responsible for any connectivity / machine related issues at the participant end.
Register for the event using the link “Register for Hackathon” before 23:59 PM IST on 15 December 2021 17 December 2021. Maximum 200 teams / individual participants are allowed on first come first serve basis.
All the registered teams / individual participant will be provided a unique Id and password through email.
The Hackathon will start on Monday, 20 December 2021 at 10:00 AM IST and will end on Tuesday, 21 December 2021 10:00 AM IST. Total time duration of Hackathon is 24 hours.
You will have to login to the server for getting access to virtual machines.
The problems set will be available to you after you log-in to the Virtual Machine.
The Hackathon will consist of one round of challenge in which teams/individual participants will be given a set of problems out of which each team/ individual participant will have to pick up one problem and work towards its solution.
In no case the problem once selected by team / individual participant will be changed.
The panelist / Jury members will grade each team /participant on the basis of pre specified parameters and marking scheme as given in the problem set.
At the end of the duration of 24 hours i.e. 10:00 AM on Tuesday, 21 December 2021, you will have to present your solutions before the panelist / jury members by connecting to online meeting link that will be shared through mail.
The entry / solution that earns the highest overall score will win. The decisions of the jury will be final. In the event of a tie, judges will deliberate to determine the winner.
Each Participant or team must be available during the judging period to demonstrate the Participant’s or team’s solution
Evaluation by the jury will start at approximately 10 AM IST on Tuesday, 21 December 2021 and may continue until 1:00 PM IST on Tuesday, 21 December 2021. The jury may inspect entries / solutions at any time during the evaluation period. The evaluation period may be extended by organiser for any length of time, in organiser’s discretion. The participants will have no say in deciding the order of evaluation.
Participant represents and warrants that their entry / solution does not violate any agreement or obligation to any invention assignment, proprietary information, confidentiality, non-solicitation, non-competition or similar agreement with any employer or other person. Participant represents and warrants that the entry / solution is and will be Participant’s own original work and does not and will not infringe the intellectual property or proprietary rights of any third party, including, without limitation, any third party patents, copyrights or trademarks. Participant hereby agrees not to instigate, support, maintain or authorize any action, claim or lawsuit against the organiser, or any other person, on the grounds that any use of a Participant’s entry / solution, infringes any of Participant’s rights as creator of the entry / solution, including, without limitation, trademark rights, copyrights and moral rights or “droit moral.” Participant hereby assigns and transfers and agrees to assign and transfer to Organiser all right, title, and interest in and to Participant’s entry / solution and consequently Organiser will have all rights to copy, edit, publicly display, publicly perform, broadcast, publish and use, in whole or in part, any entry / solution, in any manner without further compensation during and after the Hackathon. At Organiser’s request and expense, Participant will assist and cooperate with Organiser in all respects to execute documents, and will take such further acts reasonably requested by Organiser to enable Organiser to acquire, transfer, maintain, perfect and enforce their intellectual property rights and other legal protections for the entry / solution. Participant hereby appoints the officers of Organiser as Participant’s attorney-in-fact to execute documents on behalf of Participant for this limited purpose. Nothing herein shall constitute an employment, joint venture, or partnership relationship between Participant and Organiser. Participants will not receive any compensation from Organiser in connection with any entries / solutions. Each Participant acknowledges and agrees that Organiser or other Participants or third parties may have developed or commissioned works which are similar to the entry / solution of Participant or Participant’s team, or may develop something similar in the future, and each Participant waives any claims that Participant may have resulting from any similarities to the entry / solution of Participant or Participant’s team.
The participants whose entries are awarded the top three (3) highest scores by the jury will receive a material prize as follows:
Winner (Team / individual Participant) : One cash prize of Rs. 20000
First Runner up: One cash prize of Rs. 15000
Second Runner up: One cash prize of Rs. 10000
In case of a team winning any of the prize, the amount will be transferred to the account of corresponding participant.
All the participants will get the participation certificate (in soft copy)
