Spring Production
Happily Ever Before
Ages: 7-17 | Price: $239 | Course #: YPT 233 (Actors) | Course #: YPT 238 (Interns)
Schedule: Thursdays 6PM-8PM & Saturdays 9:30AM - 1PM

The fairytale villains have had enough!
For too long the Evil Queen, Wicked Stepmother, and Dark Fairy have been pushed into the shadows while princesses like Snow White, Cinderella, and Briar Rose get their happily-ever-afters. So, the scoundrels set out to change things.
With the help of the sinister Rumpelstiltskin, the mischief-makers use their magic to travel back in time, planning to change the destinies of each of their princesses and send them down a new path that doesn’t end so happily. But as the villains set their plan in motion, a classic cast of fairytale extras — including the Big Bad Wolf, Hansel and Gretel, Goldilocks, and Robin Hood — unwittingly change the princesses’ stories and the course of the villains’ plans.

Rehearsal and performance plans for this production are evolving! At present, Cecil College requires masks and 6 foot distancing indoors, but those restrictions may shift this coming spring. YPTP will continue to adhere to whatever the current procedures are for Cecil College.
Our hope and current plan is to have IN PERSON performances for this production -- these may be in our theater or outdoors, depending on how things develop. Performances will likely be held the weekend of May 13th and/or May 20th. We'll announce the official dates as soon as we're able to, but families signing up to participate should make sure that they'll be able to commit to any performances scheduled during those two weekends.

Play Reading Club
Ages: 9-17 | Price: $10 per Session
Schedule: Thursdays 6PM - 8PM
Play Reading Club is back! We’ll bring the scripts -- you bring your craziest accents, your biggest character choices, and your unbridled enthusiasm. Some scripts will be awesome. Some will be downright bizarre. And some will manage to be so epically bad that they are in fact stupendous. Grab a snack and settle in -- it’s time to read some plays!
This class will be meeting IN PERSON in the theater!
Notes: Each date is an individual session, and we’ll be reading a different play each day. Students are welcome to sign up for as many or as few sessions as they like! Scripts will be available through Google Drive -- students should bring a device for access (phone, tablet, Chromebook, or laptop) or reach out to the instructor to make other arrangements. (We do have a limited number of Chromebooks that may be used during the class.)

Acting Coaching

Working with an experienced director can make all the difference when preparing a performance. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your skills or workshop a specific piece, our acting coaching sessions can help you meet your goals as a performer. During your sessions, you will work one-on-one with one of Cecil College’s acting professors to receive individualized instruction and coaching designed to meet your personal goals.

Fantasy Quest
Ages: 9-17 | Price: $30 per Session
Schedule: Saturdays 1:15pm - 2:45pm
Come join your team on an exciting exploration of far off lands in this Dungeons and Dragons inspired game (with a YPTP twist)! Create your own character and then work together to explore the land, take on challenges, and level up. New sessions start every 3 weeks -- join as many adventures as you like! While no prior experience is needed, students will need to prepare their character before the first day of the session and have it approved by the instructor. (Instructions for character creation will be provided.)
Important Notes:
Be sure to enroll at least one week before the start of your session to allow time for character creation and prep work. Characters must be submitted by the Thursday before your first session. Instructor will be in contact with character creation details.
Students will need to bring EITHER their printed character sheet OR a device that they can use to access their character sheet (phone, tablet, laptop, Chromebook, etc.) Contact instructor if printing assistance is needed.
