LNiC 2026 Announcements

Below is some additional information about the accommodation in Flagstaff and LNiC 2026. We will update this page each time we send out an email so there is a convenient place participants can come to find information about LNiC.

Greetings, CALF Flagstaff participants and potential participants:

We are excited to greet and meet all of you. Some of you we will meet for the first time in person, and some of you are people we have known and connected with over the years, both online and in person. You are receiving this information because you have either sent your deposit for the retreat or you are considering joining us! 

If you are planning to join us, have expressed interest, and have not yet sent your deposit, will you do that by October 10th, as we have booked 4 Airbnbs and want to be sure we use what we have and give up the one we may not use, if not needed. And if your intention is there and you are still working on gathering the funds, will you reach out and let us know your intention? 

     Arriving at and Departing from Flagstaff

On October 23rd, we will gather at the Wanderlust Property: 1516 W University Heights Dr N, Flagstaff, AZ 86005, USA. LNiC 2026 activities will begin at 5 pm PT on October 23rd.  As the CALF team will be busy during the afternoon on the first day of the retreat, we ask that you arrive between 3 and 4 pm. We have rented 4 Airbnb’s within easy walking distance of each other. We will be walking or driving between locations for meals, workshop spaces, and some sleeping spaces.

At 5 pm, we will hold our Room Dance where we tour the accommodations in Flagstaff, and then select rooms with consideration of everyone's needs.  You will then be able to move your luggage into your room. We will have dinner and an opening meeting following the Room Dance once everyone has settled into their room.

LNiC 2026 will end at 10 am PT on October 30th, after a closing meeting, and snacks will be available to take on your trip home. The CALF team will depart promptly at that time, and we would like you to leave at that time as well. If you have other desires, will you let us know?

Registration

If you are attending and have not yet filled out the registration form, registration for the retreat is available online at LNiC Registration .

    What to bring

Bring comfortable clothing for indoors and outdoors, considering the temperatures below. And for the outdoor activity planned for Sunday afternoon, October 25th, bring sunscreen if you use it and a water bottle. And if you are local and have a couple of fold-up chairs, that would also support ease. 

Here is a look at the possible temperatures while we are in Flagstaff: In October, daily high temperatures in Flagstaff range from 51°F to 75°F, with overnight lows between 26°F and 44°F. The average high for the month is around 66°F, while the average low is about 37°F. 

On Sunday, we will be partaking in some NVC activities in nature. 

You may want to bring a musical instrument, a poem, a story, or an activity for a remembering that is offered at the beginning of each day. The remembering is to remind us of the consciousness of NVC.  If there is something you would like to share, a story, a poem, a dance, a game, or some music, you will have the opportunity to share it with the group.

Nutritional Needs

If you have any specific dietary restrictions or strong preferences and you have not already let us know, will you send Sylvia that information by October 15th? We are planning on eating a mostly organic, vegetarian, gluten-free diet with dairy and eggs available for those who partake.

We have a cook for lunches and dinners, and we will be co-creating breakfast together.

Internet Connection

Most of the areas (inside and outside) in which we will be living and meeting have a free Internet connection available.

Evening Opportunities

If there is something you would enjoy offering to the group (e.g., a game, a yoga session, a presentation), there will be time during the evening for you to do so.

No Talent Show

We have traditionally held a "No Talent Needed" Show at CALF events. Participation is completely voluntary, and some attendees simply enjoy watching. If you would like to take part, you may wish to bring an instrument, a costume, or some other items to support your performance. 

Final Fixed Cost Payment and Contribution to the CALF Team

Sometime in the middle of the retreat, we will share a breakdown of the fixed expenses we have incurred for the retreat (estimated between $1,400 and $1,700 per attendee), and you will have an opportunity to adjust your payment towards those fixed costs given the down payment you had previously made.  This "Money Dance' will also give you an opportunity to make a financial contribution to the CALF team (suggested $600 to $1,400) to compensate for the time and effort the team contributed towards creating the retreat.  Please bring a means to make a payment towards the fixed costs of the retreat and the contribution you will make towards the CALF team.  Payments and contributions can be made by Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal through the email calfpayments@gmail.com.
