Cellular Engineering Applications:
Final Challenge Webquest
Introduction
Teams will work on one or more programming challenges in the final week of the workshop. Each team will give a brief presentation about their selected challenge(s) to inform the class on the significance of the problem , the biology that underlies the challenge, and the approach they are taking to address the problem, and demonstrate their robot model on Friday, August 6th. Guidelines for the presentations can be found HERE. This website provides a set of resources to learn more about the biology and real world applications relevant to each challenge to help you prepare your presentation.
Challenge Topics
We have designed four potential challenges for your team to choose from. Each is biologically significant. The challenges are:
Targeted Gene Therapy
Bioremediation
Immunoengineering
Bacterial Biosensors
Access to more information about each of these challenges is available through the links at the top right of this web page.
