We investigate how lakes, rivers, coastal environments, and marine sediments preserve evidence of past environmental and climate change. By integrating sedimentology, stable isotopes, black carbon, pollen, diatoms, ostracods, charcoal, and other paleoenvironmental proxies, our research reconstructs ecosystem dynamics, hydrological variability, wildfire history, and carbon cycling across Taiwan and the surrounding marine region.
