kineton Midsummer music Miscellany

Choir selfie taken by our MD at a concert on Saturday 15 June. It was a lovely evening hosted by Wellesbourne Lions, with the proceeds going towards local projects in South Warwickshire. We were delighted to sing together with the Cubbington Silver Band, Wellesbourne Sings and Voice Box.

sad news

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of chorister Ivor Smith (Tenor 1). Ivor had been a member of the choir since 2009 and had to unfortunately leave the choir last year due to ill health. We send our thoughts to his family at this sad time.

Hello James

We welcome James Miller as Piano Accompanist.....

Goodbye Dan

We said goodbye to our fine accompanist Dan Duveen at the end of March. Dan has been with the choir since January 2013, firstly as an Assistant Accompanist and then later promoted to Principal Accompanist at the beginning of 2014.

He is moving on to pastures new and the choir wish him all the best with his future endeavors.

Life Membership

We are delighted to announce that one of our most loyal members, Ted Clark, has been granted life membership of the choir.

Ted first joined us in 1989 along with 13 other former members of the Phoenix Choir when that choir was disbanded.

Always a real character, Ted retired from our number last year. He is known as a wordsmith and student of current affairs. A sharp wit with an outstanding memory, Ted is remembered for his anecdotes as well as his contribution to the bass section.

It is our pleasure to honour you, Ted, in this fashion and we wish you a long and happy future.
