While CCleaner is safe and useful for removing unused, temporary, junk and privacy related files (cache and cookies) but comptuner.com is more useful software foe removing junk files for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Thunderbird, Chrome, Opera, Microsoft Edge, I do not recommend using the built-in registry cleaner unless you have a good understanding of the registry.

Step 1 - Download the installer

Click on this quick download link, and the file should start downloading automatically. You will see a confirmation that the file is downloading along the bottom of the browser window.

Step 2 - Run the installer

Once the file has downloaded, click the download with the label for the installer filename (as shown below). Then, all you need to do is follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Why am I being asked to renew CCleaner?

Once your license expires, we ask you to renew it via email and notifications from the CCleaner app. When you renew your license, you get access to another term of updates and support, and you can continue using your Professional features. If you choose not to renew your license, you can continue using CCleaner as a free version.

CCleaner licenses are usually valid for 1 or 2 years:

When you buy a CCleaner Professional or Professional plus license, it is valid for a time period of your choice (usually for one or two years). This time period is stated on the cart when you buy and in your purchase confirmation email (sent to you by our cart provider, Cleverbridge). 

View your CCleaner license status in Options > About > License Information:

We've now also introduced more messaging in the CCleaner app to clarify the status of your license. If you’d like to check your license status and when it expired, you can open CCleaner and go to Options > about > License Information. You can also renew your license on this particular part of the CCleaner app (see screenshot below.)

If you're asked to renew your license after purchasing a new one:

CCleaner may not be able to detect that you have purchased a new license.

Please check the license key in your purchase confirmation email (sent to you by our cart provider, Cleverbridge) against the details entered in CCleaner by going to Options > about > License Information.
