Featuring Columbia County School District Students in Grades 4th-5th
In partnership with the Poetry Matters Project and Poetry OutLoud
The Baker Place Elementary Student Poetry Committee and the Poetry Matters Project will be hosting a virtual live-streamed competition for students in grades 4th and 5th.
Each Columbia County elementary school is invited to submit 5* student videos by April 16th.
On April 21st, a panel of judges selected by the Poetry Matters Project will view the videos during a live-streamed event.

Require each student to return a completed student permission form found on the "Rubrics and Student Forms" link.
Have students view sample submission videos found on the "Resources" link.
Explain the rubric and guidelines to the students.
Help each contestant to connect with a public speaking coach. This may be a teacher or school faculty member, a community member, or a family member. Additional coaching resources may be found under the "Resources" tab.
Make a video recording of each student delivering both poems. Only 1 student should be featured per video.
