CC Kids Speak is a poetry-based public speaking competition that gives 4th and 5th-grade students, attending public schools in Columbia County, the opportunity to apply language arts concepts they are learning every day in class. Student participants will gain an understanding of how this knowledge can be used in their daily lives. 

CC Kids Speak provides teachers with the opportunity to help students develop the necessary public speaking and communication skills, so vital to 21st-century learners. Through the competition process, students will learn to analyze poems for meaning and convey their interpretation through the use of the spoken word. 

The competition, which for safety health reasons, is being held virtually this year, and is designed to encourage students who enjoy public speaking and performing; to polish their skills and enjoy the process of developing a winning performance.
