COVID-conscious means being committed to taking the necessary precautions in order to reduce the risk of spreading COVID.
A conscious Halloween means NO “at the door” Trick-or-Treating, but rather “Curbside” style, which is the recommendation of the CDC and the Town of Watertown.
Curbside Trick-or-Treating allows the community to experience the joy of Halloween as it mimics traditional Trick-or-Treating, yet it reduces the risk of COVID transmission by maintaining social distancing recommendations and limiting person-to-person contact.
For Those Giving Out Candy:
Add your address to the Curbside Trick-or-Treat Map.
Prepare small treat bags ahead of time.
If present at location, greet at the end of your driveway, sidewalk, or yard. Have kids take their own treat bags.
If possible, set treat bags up on a table or tray.
If possible, try to prevent crowds from forming.
For Those Trick-or-Treating:
Plan a route with the Curbside Trick-or-Treating Map.
Stop by a location, show off your costume, take a treat bag, and keep on moving!
Remember to wear a mask & stay 6 feet apart from other groups.
Avoid crowds. If a location already has Trick-or-Treaters, wait your turn at an appropriate distance.
