Maurizio Maugeri
Maurizio Maugeri, full professor of atmospheric physics, is at University Milano – Department of Environmental Science and Policy - since autumn 1991.
He is the Principal Investigator of the CCHP-Alps Project.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of atmospheric physics and climate change, areas of expertise in which he has published more than 120 papers listed by Scopus or Web of Science. He has about 12000 citations, with an H-index of 46. His researches are mainly focused on the reconstruction of the evolution of the climate of the last two centuries for Italy, the Alpine Region and the Mediterranean area, the projection of the climate signal onto any point of the investigated area, the downscaling of the climate scenario records to the local scale and the assessment of climate change impacts.
Michele Brunetti
@ CNR-ISAC
Michele Brunetti is director of research at the Italian National Research Council - Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (CNR-ISAC).
He got a degree and a PhD in Physics at the Bologna University. His research focuses upon climate reconstructions and analysis in the Euro-Mediterranean area, during the last 200 years (with longer instrumental records dating back to early 18th century). He teaches Climatology at the Ferrara, and Bologna University. He authored or co-authored more than 100 papers on peer reviewed journals.
Daniele Bocchiola
Daniele Bocchiola, PhD is Associate Professor, and coordinator of Climate-Lab @ Politecnico. His field of study covers especially water resources assessment and management, with emphasis upon present and potential future impact of climate change.
Veronica Manara
Veronica is a Research Fellow in Environmental Science and Policy, at University Milano. Her research focuses upon how and why climate changed during the last two centuries in. Focus variables are temperature, precipitation, solar radiation, visibility and cloudiness, among others. Her research activity was published in 20+ international papers.
Leonardo Stucchi
Leonardo is a Civil Engineer at Politecnico di Milano. He is a PhD student in Hydraulic Engineering in DICA Dept. He studies ice and snow dynamics in high altitude catchments, and the impact of global warming thereby. He also studies flood dynamics in the Caribbean areas.
Elena Prando
Elena is an Environmental Engineer at Politecnico di Milano (2023). She started (January 2024) cooperating with the personnel of Climate-Lab DICA Dept in the field of hydrogeological risk, and of climate change effects upon hydropower production, especially in high altitude catchments.
Bruno Arcuri
Bruno holds a degree in Physics from the University of Milan (2022). He has experience working with climate and atmospheric variables, as well as climate change. He is currently a research fellow at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy. His current work focuses on reconstructing Italian temperature fields over the past 30 years.
ALESSIA SPEZZA
Alessia is a PhD student in Polar Sciences at Ca' Foscari University of Venice (39th cycle), based at the University of Milan. Her research focuses on the impacts of climate change on the cryosphere of the Third Pole and of the Alps, analyzing climatic variables as precipitation, temperature and snowcover. In this framework she is working on estimating the impact on the glaciers of the Karakoram-Himalaya region through the developing of melting models.
CECILIA DELIA ALMAGIONI
PhD candidate in Physics at the University of Milan (40th cycle), based at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy (UNIMI). Her research investigates the impacts of climate change on the cryosphere and climate variables in the Alps and the Third Pole region, using remote sensing data, reanalysis datasets, and future climate scenario models. She focuses on the spatial and temporal variability of snow cover in Italy and in the Karakoram–Himalaya region, and its relationship with meteorological variables.
DAVIDE NICOLI
Davide graduated in Physics from the University of Milan in 2025, with a thesis on the construction of a dataset of daily temperatures for the Italian territory.
He is currently a research fellow at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy, where he works on climate data rescue and retrieval.
