Robert and Rita Imhoff of Marshfield celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 13, 2008, with a family gathering at World Buffet.
They were married Nov. 13, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marathon, with the Rev. Wenzel Multerer officiating.
Robert was born Feb. 19, 1923, in the town of Emmet, and attended St. Patrick School, Halder.
The former Rita Ruplinger was born Sept. 18, 1930, in the town of Marathon, and attended St. Mary’s School, Marathon.
They are members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield.
The couple farmed for 13 years, owned Sheriland Tavern and Ballroom for nine years, and both worked at Weyerhaeuser for five years, retiring in 1975. They have lived in Marshfield the past 38 years.
They have one son, Gary (Cheri) Imhoff, and a granddaughter, Brianna Imhoff.

Rev. and Mrs. Ingham reached their 20th wedding anniversary last week, Wednesday.
Mrs. Ingham is nearing her 69th birth anniversary and tho unable to walk far as yet, is able to do her house hold duties with pleasure.
Her friends are glad to hear that her health is gradually improving.

Roger and Hermina Ingold were feted on their golden anniversary, June 27, at a special open house and dinner celebration at the Neillsville Country Club.
The couple, Roger Ingold and Hermina Essig, were united in marriage on June 27, 1931, at the home of the bride’s parents.
Roger was born on June 23, 1906, in Deer Creek to Mr. and Mrs. Amiel Ingold. Hermina was born on April 13, 1909, in Washington, Illinois, to Mr. and Mrs. John Essig. They moved to a farm near Neillsville in 1948 and then to the city in 1970.
The couple had two daughters, Shirley, who died in infancy, and Mrs. Marvin (Mary) Naedler of Granton; and a son, Roger, Neillsville. They are now joined by seven grandchildren, Larry, Rodney, Nancy and Joyce Naedler and Julie, Jimmy and Wendy Ingold. (The children and grandchildren hosted the anniversary gala).

Rev. and Mrs. James Irish celebrated their golden wedding on Friday, Sept. 12, 1941, in the Annex of the Methodist Church building.
They were married at Barton, Manchester, England, Sept. 12th, 1891, by Rev. James Lewis, Supt. Of the Eccles Circuit. They have one son, Charles of Detroit, Mich., and one daughter, Mrs. Mae Bilben of St. Paul, Minn.
For the past 54 years, Rev. Irish has been in the ministry. He is serving his tenth year as pastor o the Methodist Church here and at Withee, and his thirty-fourth years in the West Wisconsin Conference. Previous to coming to America he was a member of the ministry in England for nineteen years. He came to Canada on the Empress of Iceland ship, landing on May 3, 1907 and his family and children followed on Aug. 23rd of the same year. In December 1907 they came to Wisconsin. They have served the following charges through the years: Hazel Green, Poynette, Bloomington, Merrillan, Grantsburg, Chetek, Trempealeau, Lindsey, Gays Mills, and Thorp.
Present at the celebration from out of town were their son, Charles and his wife from Pontiac, Mich., and their daughter, Mae Bilben from St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Bilben and Mrs. E.E. Smart of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Rev. John Sainty, Cameron, Wis., Rev. and Mrs. Harry Evans from Spring Valley, Minn.; Rev. E. Clarke, Supt. And his wife, from Eau Claire, Wis.; Rev. and Mrs. Dan Willett of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; Rev. and Mrs. Gaylord of Stanley; Mrs. Anna Kiddoo, Mrs. Ruth Ketelle and daughter, Mrs. Susan Engle, Mrs. James Tilten, Miss Anna Ketelle, Mrs. Altenberg and daughter, and Miss Etta Altenburg, all representing Lindsey; Mr. Carl Whittaker, Postmaster of Chetek, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Cords of Glendale, Ariz. Greetings were received from many friends and relatives representing nearly every charge that they have served. Greetings came from his brothers Bert and Charles and their families from Victoria, B.C., Canada, and from a dear old chum of his, Arthur Lowe, Council Bluffs, Ia.
Many valuable gifts were also received from their church and relatives and friends. A lunch was provided for all out of town friends and visitors, and an open house from 2 o’clock on. A short program was arranged at which many speeches were delivered by the visiting ministers, and a solo by Mrs. Clarke, and a duet by Rev. and Mrs. Evans.
It was a beautiful day, much like the day on which they were married. So they say, "A day never to be forgotten."

Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Irvine entertained relatives and friends on Saturday evening, March 30th, 1957 at a dancing party at Barr's Hall in celebration of their Silver Wedding Anniversary.
Dorothy Vollrath and Quinton Irvine were united in marriage on March 26th, 1932 at at the parsonage of the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church. They have resided on a farm 3 1/2 miles northwest of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) ever since.
The Irvine's have one son, Victor, in Milwaukee, and three daughters, Joan and Jacqueline, Milwaukee, and Dorene at home.

Victor Irvine, Mrs. Tim (Joan) Gruber, Mrs. Robert (Jacki) Rogstad and Mrs. Gerry (Dorene) Wetzel were hosts at a surprise party for their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Irvine, Saturday night at the Legion Hall in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary. Dancing was enjoyed with music furnished by Mrs. Richard Abel. Lunch was served, which include a wedding cake baked by Mrs. Louie Deegan.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvine received many lovely gifts. Those from away who attended were Mrs. Louis Slock, Eau Claire, one of the attendants; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Irvine and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Gruber and family, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Abel, Kaukauna; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nichols, Tomah, and many relatives and friends from the Greenwood area.

Mr and Mrs. W. S. Irvine of Owen will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of their wedding on Aug. 17. They are the parents of John J. Irvine, county clerk, and Dave Irvine of Milwaukee. Two other sons, Bertram and Caspar, are dead.
Mr. Irvine was prominently identified with the early life of Clark County, holding various public offices and representing his district in the state assembly. As a boy, Mr. Irvine worked on the Mississippi River and at 16 went across the plains to Salt Lake City in search of gold. He had many experiences with the Indians who were attacking the white travelers those days.
He was married in 1871 to Eliza Roscoe and took up farming in Beaver Township where he lived until 1914. For a time they lived at Loyal, later making their home at Owen. They are both in good health and Mrs. Irvine still attends to all her duties about the household.

Few of the pioneers of Clark County have done more for this county's development than Mr. and Mrs. IRVINE, not merely development in a material way, of which they did their full share, but they did much more than this assisting in many ways to build up a better social and religious life in the community, working for better educational advantages and better political policies. Now in the afternoon of life they have retired to their quiet home in Owen.

Irvine, Mr./Mrs. William S.
The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Irvine was celebrated in a quiet way Sunday Aug. 19, 1923, at their home in Owen, Clark County, Wis. Only their children and their families were present. Few of the pioneers of Clark County have done more for this county's development in a material way, of which they did their full share, but they did much more than this, assisting in many ways to build up a better social and religious life in the community, working for better educational advantages and better political policies. Now in the afternoon of life they have retired to their quiet home in Owen.
W. S. Irvin was born in Maryland, March 18, 1851, his parents being natives of Scotland. At an early age he came west to Trempeleau Co. and started to work as a raftsman on the Mississippi River, attending school only in winter. When 16 years of age he joined an expedition to go to California to seek gold. They crossed the plains and Rocky Mountains, but on account of the hostility of the Indians, turned back on reaching Salt Lake City. He stopped in Iowa on his return, attending school again and working on the river. When still quite young, only 19 years of age, he came to Clark County and began work for the logging firm of W. W. Crosby & Co. He worked that winter on east Fork and the next summer went with a crew to the town of Unity to clear land for the Crosby Co. Roads were almost impassable, but after a series of adventures the crew reached their destinations and that summer cleared 60 acres of land. On Aug. 17, 1873, Mr. and Mrs. Irvine were married and settled on their farm in the town of Beaver. Mrs. Irvine, whose maiden name was Eliza Roscoe, was born Dec. 4, 1848, in West Bend Township, Washington Co., Wis. She was the first woman to arrive at Unity Station when the railroad was built through there, and had all the experiences of pioneer life in the wilderness, and in all their experiences of home and community development, she was a faithful assistant for Mr. Irvine. His natural ability and sterling character soon made him a factor in local affairs. He was a member of the local school board for 20 years, chairman of the town of Beaver for 16 or 18 years. In 1902 he was elected on the Republican Ticket as Member of Assembly and was reelected in 1904. His record in the Legislature was excellent. He was a champion of many good measures and won a large measure of esteem and for five successive sessions of the legislature he was appointed Sergeant-at-arms of the Assembly. In 1914, Mr. and Mrs. Irvine sold the old farm in Beaver and moved to Loyal, where they lived till two years ago, when they sold their home there and establish their new home in Owen. A large group of relatives and friends gathered to help Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Isenberger, route 3, Stanley, celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday. They attended services at Faith Evangelical Free Church, followed by a dinner for family members at the Badger Inn.
In the afternoon a reception given by their children was held at their church with about one hundred guests attending.
An informal program was enjoyed with Virgil Isaacs as the Emcee. Musical numbers were a flute duet, "To do the Father's Will," played by Cheryl Isenberger and Kristine Isaacs, accompanied by Karen Hoolleen; and a vocal duet, "Living for Jesus," sung by Mrs. Robert Christiansen and Mrs. Clayton Flora. A school classmate of Mrs. Isenberger's, Miss Magnhild Soderberg, read an original poem written for the occasion. Appropriate remarks were given by Pastor Robert Christiansen.
Buffet refreshments were served, with granddaughters, Cheryl and Nola Isenberger presiding at the punch bowl; Mrs. Charles Heagle cut and served the anniversary cake, and Mrs. Allan Heagle poured. The guest book was in charge of Cheryl Isenberger.
A center of interest and the cause of much reminiscing was a grouping of picture which spanned the couple's married life and their children. Mr. and Mrs. Isenberger received many greetings and gifts in memory of the occasion.
Miss Mabel Warden and Oscar Isenberger were married on June 7, 1916 at the Warden farm home in the Town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), in a ceremony performed by the Rev. D. W. David.
The Isenbergers have four children, Mrs. Charles (Eloraine) Heagle of Buffalo, Minn.; Warden G. "Bud" of Tacoma, Wash. (unable to be present on Sunday); Harold of Stanley; and Mrs. Harvey (Betty) Kvale of Graham, Wash. (also unable to be present, but did manage to get through with telephoned greetings.) There are 22 grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Izydorek, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), will observe the 50th anniversary of their marriage on Sunday, Feb. 15th, 1948. They were united in marriage in Chippewa Falls on Feb. 15th, 1898.
An open house is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home where their many relatives and friends will offer them congratulations and good wishes.
