Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Quast, of Greenwood, Clark Co., WI celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, July 3, with their children and many friends attending, in honor of the event. They were married in Jefferson and resided there until 1907, when they settled on a farm south of Greenwood. Later, in 1917, they moved into Greenwood, where they have since lived. Mr. Quast was county treasurer at Jefferson for a number of years. He has served as a trustee of St. Mary's Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Quast, residents of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) for over 23 years, observed their 52nd wedding anniversary at their home Wednesday, July 3, 1940.
The couple were married July 3, 1888, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Jefferson, by the Rev. Fr. Jaeger. Their attendants were Miss Elizabeth Quast, sister of Mr. Quast, and Mrs. Quast’s brother, George Fischer.
Until 1907 Mr. and Mrs. Quast made their home at Jefferson. They then moved to Clark County, where they settled on a farm south of Greenwood. In 1917 they moved to the city and have resided there ever since.
Mr. Quast was born in Jefferson County Aug. 3, 1857. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Quast. Mrs. Quast, nee Caroline Fischer, is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer. She was born March 11, 1867.
The Quasts had eight children, the six living are: Mrs. Robert (Esther) Kinnear, Mrs. August (Edna) DeKennen, Mrs. John (Florence) Pauley, and John, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Linus (Agnes) Prock, Globe; and Hugo, Willard.
While in Jefferson Mr. Quast was county treasurer for many years. The couple are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Mr. Quast has also served as trustee.

Former Greenwood residents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin (Hilda Dyre) Quast of West Allis, observed their 55th wedding anniversary October 30.
The anniversary dinner was served at the home of their granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Linda) Hett of Eagle.
The Quasts have a son, Allen Quast, Whitewater; a Daughter, Mrs. Beverly Sisson, Eagle; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

On Sunday, July 3, 1938, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Quast celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary surrounded by all of their children and a few friends.
At 6:00 p.m. a delicious dinner was served to thirty-three people at the Lyon's restaurant. A three-tiered wedding cake, made by Mrs. Hugo Quast, and trimmed in gold leaves on white frosting and the figure "50", was part of the table decoration. After teh dinner Rev. J.J. Novak gave a few very appropriate remarks and congratulated Mr. and Mrs. Quast on their golden anniversary. The guests then adjourned to the Quast home, where a delightful evening was spent in visiting.
On July 3, 1888, at St. John's Catholic Church at Jefferson, Miss Caroline Fischer and Joseph Quast were united in marriage by Rev. Dr. Jaeger. They were attended by Miss Elizabeth Quast, sister of the groom, and George Fischer, brother of the bride. Miss Quast passed away many years ago, but Mr. Fischer was able to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Quast resided at Jefferson until 1907 when they came to Clark County and settled on a farm south of Greenwood. In 1917 they moved to our city and have resided here ever since. To this union were born eight children, Agnes, Mrs. Linus Prock of Globe; Hugo of Willard; Esther, Mrs. Robert Kinnear, Edna, Mrs. August de Kennen, Florence, Mrs. John Paully, and John, all of Milwaukee. Two children died in infancy. They have eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
While in Jefferson Mr. Quast was County treasurer for many years and in Greenwood served as one of the trustees of St. Mary's Church. The last few years Mr. Quast's health has not been very good.
They received a purse of money from the children and many gifts from friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Quast of Granton last Thursday, September 1st, observed their silver wedding anniversary. Most of her brothers, sisters, and mother were present. Mr. and Mrs. Quast are well known here having been one time postmaster and businessman at Willard. They were married here in Willard at the Holy Family Church by Rev. J. J. Novak.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, 1953 Mr. and Mrs. Martin Quast celebrated their Silver Wedding anniversary at Our Savior's Lutheran Church parlors from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A program was presented and lunch served. The couple received gifts and money and many nice cards.
In the evening many friends and relatives called at the home.
Miss Hilda Dyre, daughter of Mrs. Annie Dyre, Greenwood, and Martin Quast, son of Mrs. Anna Quast, Neillsville, were united in marriage at the home of the bride's mother on Oct. 21, 1928 by Rev. M.K. Aaberg.
To this union were born, a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Beverly) Sisson of Oklahoma and a son Allen at home.
The occasion was celebrated on the 18th instead of the 22nd because their daughter had to return to Oklahoma.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Quelle, Sr., of Rt. 3, Greenwood, were guests of honor recently at a party given for them in honor of their Fortieth wedding anniversary by their children. Mrs. Quelle was presented a corsage of two ruby tinted orchids and Mr. Quelle a white carnation.
The evening was spent with refreshments and dancing, after which a lunch was served to about 100 people. The main table was centered by a wedding cake decorated in ruby and white.
Guests came from Franklin park, Ill; Oronoco, Minn.; Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, Port Washington, Fredonia, Madison, Marshfield, Stetsonville, Owen, Thorp, Spencer, and Withee. Many were from the Greenwood area.

Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Quicker of Neillsville will have an open house Saturday at the American Legion Hall, Neillsville, in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. They marriage took place June 11, 1933 in the Town of Lynn.

Mr. and Mrs. Hubert H. (Nellie M.) Quicker of 1109 Hewett St., Neillsville, who were married by the Rev. Paul B. White of the Methodist Church, Neillsville, June 11, 1933 at the brides parental home in Clark County, celebrated the golden anniversary of their marriage June 11 at the American Legion Hall, Neillsville.
Quicker was born November 15, 1910 to Mr. and Mrs. James G. (Louise Steinbach) Quicker in the Town of Lynn. He attended Maple Grove Grade School and graduated in 1928 from Marshfield McKinley High School. Before he married he did general office work in Milwaukee from 1928-30 then road construction work until 1933.
Mrs. Quicker, the former Nellie M. Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar (Maggie West) Johnson, was born December 16, 1912 in Clark County. She attended Sunbean Grade School, Granton High School and Neillsville Teachers Training School. Before she married, she taught school two years in the Town of Lynn.
After their marriage, the Quickers spent a year in Granton, then the next 49 in Neillsville. He did construction work for a year, was an accountant 15 years, owned the Neillsville Dairy from 1950-58 and had the Accounting Service from 1959-80. His wife taught school for a year and did office work for several years after the children were grown. Retirement came in 1982.
Their children are Hubert "Snick" Quicker, Altoona; Jerry L. Quicker, South Milwaukee; Dennis Quicker, Washington D.c.; and Donald E. Quicker, Neillsville. Another son, Terry D. Quicker, died in infancy in 1938. There are five grandchildren.
Mrs. Beulah West Reimer of New Era, Michigan, an attendant at the 1933 wedding, came for the occasion.
The Quickers are members of the United Church of Christ. He has been a member of the Clark County Board of Supervisors for 33 years, 21 years as vice chairman and nine as chairman until retiring from the board.
His hobbies are golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling; hers are handicraft, card clubs, golfing and walking.

Mr. and Mrs. James Quicker of the town of Lynn observed their fortieth wedding anniversary Wednesday evening, June 12, at the farm home where they spent their entire married life, and all except three of their children: Hilda, Mrs. John Barth, Fremont; Mrs. Edward Jacobs, Milwaukee, and Albert Quicker of San Diego, Calif., were present for the occasion.
Those who had supper with the parents were: Hubert Quicker and family, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Voight and two children, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Quicker and three children, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Reinhart Quicker and son and Miss Irene Quicker at home. One daughter died in infancy.
The family was pleasantly surprised by Mrs. Shirley Cooper and daughter, Beverly, of San Diego, Calif., neighbors of the Albert Quicker family in the west, who are visiting in Eau Claire. Knowing that the celebration was to take place that evening, they droved down to have supper with the family and gave them firsthand news and greetings from their son and brother, Albert.
In the evening another surprise took place when a large group of neighbors and friends took advantage of the anniversary event, bringing with them baskets of food and presented Mr. and Mrs. Quicker with a cash gift. The immediate family also remembered their parents with a number of fine presents.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Quist celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, Sunday. About 40 relatives attended the festivities which included dinner and supper.
One of the high lights of the day’s celebration was a mock wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Quist were the bride and groom, attended by her brother-in-law, and sister, Mr. and Mrs. N. T. Nielson. Miss Thora Kurschner acted as flower girl and a nephew, Ronald Beecroft, took the part of the minister.
Special instrumental music was furnished by Mrs. Cecelia Taube, a sister of Mrs. Quist, and Burnice Kurschner, a nephew. Vocal selections were given by Mrs. Kurschner, Floyd Eder and Mrs. Gotfried Baumgart. All the guests joined in singing old favorite songs.
For the occasion the center piece on the table was a large wedding cake, decorated with gold roses and leaves. Seasonal garden flowers were also used throughout the house.
Mr. and Mrs. Quist received many beautiful gifts on this memorable occasion.

Miss Christine Johnson became the bride of Charles Quist June 23, 1892, in Red Wing, Minn. They made their home in St. Paul, where Mr. Quist was a motorman on the street car line from 1890 to 1895.
They then moved to Almena in Barron county where they farmed until 1920, when they purchased a farm two miles north of Abbotsford where they lived for four and a half years. This they sold and bought another farm south of Abbotsford on Highway 13 where they have lived ever since.
Mr. and Mrs. Quist are the parents of 10 children, four of whom are living. The five oldest and the youngest of their family died while still children.
The four children were present at the celebration: Mrs. Otto (Mable) Kowalk, Mrs. George (Gertrude) Kowalk, Colby; Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Baumgart, Owen; and Earl Quist, at home. There are also three grand children: Duane Baumgart and Glendon and Betty Jane Kowalk.
Mr. Quist is the last member of his family but Mrs. Quist has four sisters: Mrs. Taube, Mrs. Nielson, Mrs. Frensted; the fourth sister, Mrs. Ann Peabody, of Hammond, Wis., was unable to be present for the golden wedding celebration.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Quist of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary Monday of this week, when approximately 100 of their relatives and friends gathered at their home in the afternoon to extend to them hearty congratulations and well wishes. Nearly all of those present were members of the congregation of the Danish Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. Quist have been residents of Withee for a great many years, and were among the pioneers coming to this vicinity at the beginning of the Danish colony which was started there.
During the afternoon there were speeches by the Rev. M. Mikkelsen, pastor of the Danish Lutheran Church, and by Robert Johnson, president of the Danish Society, and special singing. The church society gave to Mr. and Mrs. Quist a very beautiful basket of flowers. The home was beautifully decorated with streamers, roses and other flowers. Late in the afternoon coffee, ice cream and cake were served.
Relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Quist, who were present at the anniversary, were Mr. and Mrs. Jens Stigsen and son, Thorvald, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Axelsen and children of Withee. Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson Jr. and children of St. Paul, and two sons, who are at home.
Mr. Quist is 84 years of age, and his wife is 86, and both are in their usual good health. The community at large is congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Quist for their fifty years of happy wedded life.
