A bottled water replacement pilot program is available in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties on a limited-term basis.
The free bottled water replacement pilot project delivers bottled water to income qualified* residential households with private domestic wells or small water systems that do not meet drinking water standards.
*Income qualified households are those who’s income falls at or below the California Department of Housing and Community Development’s (HCD) most recent Official State Income Limits. The income limit must fall within one of the following categories for their respective county Acutely Low, Extremely Low, Very Low, or Low Income.

To qualify, applicants must live in a household that meets all of the following criteria.
Served by a private domestic well or small water system that does not meet drinking water standards as determined through the Central Coast Drinking Water Well Testing Program,
Meet the specifically defined income qualification criteria as described above, and
Located in Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo Counties.
