Cornell Contingent Academic Workers (CCAW) formed in 2024 to organize all workers at Cornell University who are not already unionized or tenure-track. We include and welcome postdoctoral fellows, researchers, lecturers, adjuncts, librarians, staff and any other workers who contribute to Cornell's academic labor.
Who can join CCAW? Any academic worker involved in the research, teaching, administrative or service work that makes Cornell run, on any campus or in any division of the university.
What does CCAW do? We speak with a progressive collective voice on issues critical to the governance, finances, and political positioning of the university. We organize fellow workers and provide training and support for worker-organizers.

We want the administration to address longstanding concerns of its academic workers. We organize around these core demands:
Respect and fair treatment for all workers
Fair wages and contracts
Secure jobs and funding
Union protections
Academic freedom for all workers
Workplaces free from discrimination, repression, and systemic inequality
Inclusivity and representation in Cornell’s labor force and leadership
Democratic governance and transparency in higher education
Solidarity with other labor organizations and social justice movements within Cornell, in the surrounding communities, and beyond
Democratic, worker-driven unions for all workers
