Among CCA's top debaters, Elaine Guo and Sonia Yan are rising seniors and the captains of policy debate.

As a partnership, some of their most notable achievements include reaching quarterfinals on the national circuit, qualifying to the 2018 and 2019 State Championships, and qualifying to the 2019 National Championships as the champion of the 2019 Southern California National Qualifiers. At the 2019 State Championships, Elaine and Sonia reached quarterfinals, becoming one of the Top 8 policy teams in California.

As captains, both Elaine and Sonia have experience teaching policy debate to novice and varsity members. They are very passionate about the event and are extremely excited to share the world of policy with you all!
